I actually got rid of him last night. Taking a bold move here...

guys, a half fit deledio will still score you a constant 80+ score weekly, but i still think he will be fine. We see many players miss pre season and start fine, like chapman last year, no nab and no round 1 and he still scored 101,100,120,130 from round 2-5. Richmond are just being careful because he is a big part of the Richmond team, once he gets on the field they will still look for him and get the cheap +6's off the backline.

Cant see any benefit in not having him from the start unless he dips below a 90 average.

Bak2form, if he scores 80's then I'm not interested...

"80+"  meaning 80odd will be your lowest IF he isnt fully fit, he can still score big. His a jet, so what if he scores 80's round 1 and 2. Wont take him long to knock his average to 100. You are just wasting a trade bringing him in sometime during the year.

Yay 100 cheers lol.

But yeah it's either lids or mummy?

Wasting a trade?  ??? Picking up a premium at a low price-point is how to build a strong team.

ok not 100% sure how the price of players is determined, but lets say lids scores, 85,90,100 (giving that he MAY start the season slow with little pre season) and he drops 20k in price. is that worth you picking him at round 3? what price do you put on a trade? your rookies wont have time to fatten so you would have todo a straight swap, if he starts off slow i dont think it will take him too long to score high again and by the time your rookies have made the money you want then lids will be the same price as his starting price now, or if you wait he can be more exspensive. All im saying is i see more upside starting him than not. i think players like shaw & suckling should be your upgrade targets as they have a much higher chance of scoring 60's then you can pick them up. Lids had 1 score of 60 last yr, shaw had 4 or 5, also lids has only missed 1 game in 5 years

If Lids starts the year slowly then surely an average close to 80 would be expected? A 100 average is what I'd expect from Lids when he's flying. Also, due to the set salary cap price (i.e. doesn't fluctuate) prices for ALL premiums will decrease as the price of the many rookies increase as we approach midseason.

That aside, if I was to start Birchall in Lids place (not a rookie) - who I expect to at least maintain his 2011 average - I would expect Birch to at least not drop in price while Lids value would fluctuate as his 80 point games are removed from his rolling average and, therefore, his price.

+1, people jumping off Del is just stupid, he will be top 3 scores if not top 2 behind God. Birchall, shaw, suckling are all way more inconistant. Del wont even get 80's he will be 100+ player no worries, richmond are just protecting him, been training well and after this weekend everyone will be putting them back in the team.

It doesnt matter if he drops in price, hes a premium, a keeper you wont need to use the cash unless he gets injured. If you wait to get him he mite pump out a few good scores and be even more expensive, or if he loses money then he'll be better to get, but thats more risky not starting with him. And if he does lose money, he wont lose much and will rise again.
