Weighing up weather to start the season with dusty or wait till he hopefully decreases value after the tiges tough start to the year. What do people think about his capability of scoring well against the tough sides? And does anyone know what his breakeven score is?

coolfugitiv0

Martin was on 128 SC points at 3/4 against the Cats.
Yes I know it was NAB, and I know they weren't at full strength, but that's a great score regardless.

Start him or miss out. I'm starting him personally. I sugeest you do the same  ;)

Breakeven of 99 right now.

quinny88

Yea he certainly has looked sharp in the nab cup however im not sure how much of a real indication that is.
99 would be a pretty good score against carlton, collingwood, geelong and westcoast not sure if he could pull that off against all.of them

don't waste a trade getting him later  8)

He was my first player picked this year.  Get him!

I do currently have him but i can afford to put in pavlich at F4 instead of dusty and then use porpas at F5 to upgrade to martin a quater of the way through the season... This of course is assuming that dusty drops and porpas increases

how can you leave him out!!! i dont understand anyones logic behind not picking him, he is an absolute gun. anyone wonder why Richmonds clearence numbers went down last year from the year before despite improvement? Because this kid was playing in the FWD line!! tiges need to improve in this area so he will be in there more this year. Even if he is not he will still avg ALOT.

The man who was 3rd in the league for clearances in 2010; Tuck, not playing might have had something to do with the clearances not being so high.

2010 clearence numbers
Tuck had 100
Martin had 101 (in his first year.) FAIL TO MEOW. Good point though but tucky might be playing defense this year? have to wait and see

Stats are just a guide. Tuck was more effective. I didn't even look it up, it's all stored in my big brain.

Im not questioning weather he is a gun or not and im positive his average will increase this year. I certainly plan to have him in my team by some point in the season but of the gun forwards available im just thinking that he is probably the one that could drop a bit of value early on before sky rocketing so i can pick him up at a good price

I didnt look up stats either until you questioned that Martin had less clearences. I looked them up after as a reference. I still think Martin has more and had more impact at clearences than tuck just in terms of turning a clearence into a score. Tuck is very underated but Martin is and will change games when gaining first possesion, Tuck wont.

I've thought about leaving Dusty out but I can't find 1 good reason to exclude him from my squad. I thinks there's more question marks on selecting Deledio than Dusty.
