So you're getting jitters because he spend most of the game on the bench against Eagles and still scored 56?
If he actually cared about NAB and played full games like he does in the season then he would pump out the hundreds.

Afl says he was on ground 85% of the time  :-\. I watched the first half of this game and thought he had a decent 1st Qtr but didn't see him after that. When I went to check FF scores, Monty had him as sitting out most of the game but the AFL stats say otherwise  :-\.

Ah ok. I was just going by m0nty's thing so didn't know the actual percentage...

With lids start to the year? he has averaged over 100 for tbe last 4 or 5 years. Richmond has had hard draws each of those years simply because they havent been very good. so why will a hard draw this year make him  average less. the bloke is a gun. God people talk some shower on here, one person makes a comment tben most people follow it like stkilda players and high school girls. here is some advice. grow some balls and make your own decisions, not going to get anywhere following the pack.

Rant over!!!

Drummond!

or zac dawson?

That's just ridiculous. I've never seen Dawson score 227 in one game like Joshua has.

Im glad people are turned off lids and hope people do steer clear of him, all the better for us. the blokes missed 4 games in his career so the more people that think hamstring tightness that happened 6 weeks from round 1 is an issue, the more i rub my hands together

Sorry, but Goddard  :P. Don't be scared off! He had a shocking year last year by his standards and still averaged 107!
Will easily be in top 3 backs.
couldn't have said it any better.

What?!? The last time Goddard's season ave dropped below 100 was 2007 when he was injured & only player 7 games! In 5 of his past 6 seasons he's averaged over 100 & he's only 26 (turning 27 July)!!!

Tabs - exactly what has given you 2nd thoughts? (please don't say NAB cup - players don't take seriously & only use it to get match fitness/get back into the pace of the game & coaches use it to experiment with new/altered game plans.

Cortez - please give me any plausible reason as to why God will average 90...

Haha, Gotcha!!! You're a donkey if you leave out God or deledio! God will be back averaging 115+ atleast and if richmond go well lids will be 110+ even if richmond have a shower year he will still average over 100.

Hang on, are you two sitting on this site writing deliberately provocative posts so people will reply to them & then you get to say "Gotcha!" or "Caught!"

Really?  ::)

That sounds like need to get a life kind of stuff... Hope for your sake it's not the case.

Crazy idea, but hear me out. Good, informative, rational discussion by the adults and the kiddies can go and play in the corner. Thoughts?  ;)

No not nab cup, sluggish start to 2011 for saints even though Goddard averaged well (in the end) New coach, new game plan and maybe trying something different with my team

Nah mate, everything i write on here is something i believe is correct. Only wrote that that due to the rant as a joke (i occasionally do that), calm down have a cup of tea and a biscuit.

The reason i ran this poll is i wanted to see if everyone believes that Goddard will be the number 1 back this year. I am not sure if he will be or not. I think lids will be up there as well but not at the start. Coming back from injury and with 4 hard games at the start will test his injury. The blues havent shown us anything so we dont know what role Scotland will play.  Whatlez has a big man love crush on Birchall so i dont want to steal his man (also has a tough draw to start with as well as some other backs that may steal some points off him). No body has talked enright after being a points accumulator for years

Talisman

All good mate. And all fair points too.

Don't get me wrong, I'm all in favour of some levity and a joke or 2, but some people on can give me the showers when they only troll for peoples reactions. If you're not like that, my apologies.

P.S. Don't drink tea - only a coffee man!  ;) I'll happily have that biscuit though!  ;)

Tabs i for one agree with you. I currently don't have goddard in my starting team. One reason is that saints are looking terrible this year and also have a new coach. i know that doesn't affect someone like goddard, but its still a big if. But another thing is that GWS will be trying to snap up goddard at the end of the year and there are so many rumours about it. GWS are going a lot more place than saints are right now i can tell you that, and as a result, goddard looks like he doesn't even want to be there. If he does want to move to one of GWS or GC at the end of the year, this is almost like a nothing year for him. now i know these aren't the greatest reasons, but i don't know, theres just some gut feeling i have surrounding goddard this year, he's just looks so uncertain. i could very well be wrong, i mean it is goddard we are talking about here. but yes i have gone for other safer options in birchall and shaw for example. i know saying shaw is a safe option is quite ironic, but i think people have to start manning up. shaw may have burnt people before, but he will dominate this year, and honestly, how stupid can someone get. expect him to play 22 this year

I also don't have lids in my team to start with mainly as a precaution. I have gone a weaker back line this year and lids is one player i have left out, but he will probably be one of the first players I bring into my side.

As for scotland and birchall, i think they are 2 of the safest picks in the back line. birchall is as solid as ever and its hard to see him going anywhere but up. Scotland will just carry on doing his same old thing, his role won't change and he will continue to rack it up. i just can't justify spending 500k almost on a defender. will wait til he drops in price just a tad ;)

I think actually saying the words ""Shaw is a safe option" is considered a joke in any language around the world, but i believe if you get him from the start then i have got my points and i am happy.

I also am not sure about picking any pies players especially swan or pendles now that the pies look to be going down the corridor rather than the wing, coach and players may not like the same game plan and could join Goddard at GSW or GC. but that a separate topic all together.
