Hi Guys, welcome to a new season.

Sorry I haven't been around much since last year to contribute.
Building a house so it's taking all my time

Thought of mine. Is anyone loading up big time up in the backline.
I am. Just can't see real good options in the rookies
I have 6 goodun's plus Lake.

Just interested in everyone else's thoughts

Cheers

id love to but the rd 13 bye is a pain...

Personally, i find it easier picking defender rookies (ellis, bugg, darley, morris, smedts) than forward rookies. And i'm alot more confident in forward premiums over the defender premiums (who knows if broughton will play mid? is birchall really a premium? deledios hamstring injury? goddards poor NAB form?)

I've got 3 prems plus Hargrave in defence, and then 6 prems including Sidebottom and Dangerfield in my forwards.

It is easier to pick rookie defenders, but imo, it is also much easier to pick forward prems and mid pricers (bar maybe Hargrave/Lake/Howard in defence). You can pick forward premiums and mid pricers from any bye rounds, whereas the top defenders are nearlly all rnd 12/13.

If you are going to load up anywhere, isn't it the mids? They'll consistently outscore premos from any other position (except maybe big Cox), so whilst waiting for cows to mature before selling them off and upgrading in your backs & fwds, your mid premos will have been averaging 20ppg more than another person's prem fwds/backs... Also, mid premos seem to be more consistent year to year (GAJ, Swan, Judd, etc.), whereas def premos can be a bit more unpredictable...

Just some thoughts - they may cost more, but damn I love super-premium mids!!
