I was trying to keep down the number of rookies I had from GWS - as was starting to notice that my team was becoming Giant heavy.  But then I just looked at a team in the rate teams forum and it had 8 rookies and my question is can you actually have too many?  I guess they are likely to have better job security than most other team, is there any benefit from spreading your rookies thru teams or just stick with these guys - cos if i go with my gut I have 7 GWS players and that just seems too much

*only obvious thing i see is the bye - but apart from that, what are the negatives/positives?

It doesnt matter too much beause the reality is that they are only there to increase in value to trade off for extra premiums.  just need to make sure that you have offloaded a few before there bye.
In saying that you have to have a real look who is capable of scoring well and pick the best of the crop because there arent going to be 8 gws rookies that all make you a good cash increase

2 per position is fine I reckon, I've got 7 (one in the ruck) and they all play different roles so don't expect points to be taken off each other.

i has 6... there is no limit, but they have to be quality....dont just pick GWS rookies because they are more likely to get more games...

Well only 1 GWS player can be sub!

2 actually.  :P

1 off, 1 on this will effect both scores.

When you go the guns n rookies strategy, its hard to avoid having 5-8 GWS rookies in your side.

Most of the rookies we've seen play this preseason have either questionable job security (smedts, spurr, weedon, couch), injured themselves (magner, neale, zorko) or have just been disappointing (walsh, wilkes). Even then, the players that will actually manage to make the 22 still have a high chance of being vested.

Currently have 8.  But still holding out on Magner so might be 9..gulp. But of these 2 are 18yos while the others are mature ages, so hoping that they get more of a run than the younger lads.

Makes it more difficult that you lock in your GWS players a week before other teams, meaning you have no idea which other rookies will be getting games come rnd 1.

Was going to be using my rnd 3 trades for adjustments for better rookies, so will still be the case but now have more chance of having more 0s on my benches.

Load up boys, only thing you need to worry about is byes.
Everything else is pointing to the GWS super rookies.

I have 8 (One being Shiel as if he doesnt play rnd 1 will def. play rnd 2 or 3) so saving a trade there, just got to watch the bye so rounds 8-11 will be alot of study ;-)
