I'm thinking about dropping either Goddard or Lids to bring in Shaw.  If I were to do this, which one should I drop?  I'm thinking Deledio, but dropping Goddard would free up a little bit of cash.  Note that I'm only thinking about doing this, so nothing is set in concrete at this stage.

I have Scotland, Goddard, Deledio, Birchall and Hargrave as my main defenders, but Deledio has barely had a pre-season and with our early draw I think he may be suited to an upgrade target.  Goddard started off poorly last season too, and he hasn't exactly been at his best in pre-season as well so, again, could be more of an upgrade target.  I know it's pre-season and we shouldn't take too much into it etc etc but I just feel that one of these should be an upgrade target, and that Shaw will probably start the season in pretty good form.

I also have all three. Both have the same bye, and you should really have both. I say dorp Deledio as Conca, Houli, Ellis, Morris are also in the same position, and it may affect his scoring. (Doubt it though)

I have all 3 too, I didn't read the question right... I voted Goddard... Sorry...

Scotch

I have Deledio as an upgrade target because of his limited pre-Season.  Shaw should be a great early selection (make sure he doesn't stuff up byes though but backs seem okay for rd 12).

I was considering dumping Goddard because of his shower attitude seeming to continue from last year but NAB cup isn't much to go by :S

Yeah, he's hardly filling me with confidence. I was very briefly tempted by a Goddard - Carrots straight swap.

Byes aren't an issue for me in Round 12.  If Shaw does come in for Lids/Gods I'd only be missing Shaw and Marty Clarke that round.

Tell me you have Birchall??

Lol I didn't read that post... good he's gun and will kill it this season. Hopefully....  8)

neither Goddard or Deledio for me this year. Going the Shaw, Suckling, Hanley, Heppell road. Risky yeah but just slightly different not having them. May upgrade or downgrade to them but I am just not convinced.

Shaw is more of a lock this year then Goddard imo. I have no nagging doubt at all about not having Goddard in my round 1 side.

Would it be too crazy to go in at the start of the season without either Lids or Gods?  Or do you have to have one?
