hey fellas,

I'm still really undecided what strategy to use in the ruck nearing(ish) lock out!!!!

At the moment i have H. McIntosh & J.Giles in the ruck which i'm really worried about leaking too much points. Its a bargain but involve risk!!!!!

Dean Cox looks in great form in the preseason!!! Reports from yesterdays game against the Saint says Cox was name one of BOG. He moved well and scored a delicious 117pts despite spending plenty of time resting in the forward allowing Nataui to do more of the ruck work and was eventually was subbed out in fourth qtr. Even with some key forwards missing yesterday, its more then likely Woosha will continue to play/rest Cox there during the season. In most cases this is not good news for dt but Cox is proven gun & has the ability to score well!

2011- 103pts 25games
2010- 85pts 22games
2009- 107pts 13games
2008 - 107pts 22games
2007- 103pts 21games

After strong nab games, i don't see him slowing down in 2012, even with improving the Nic Nac. At a hefty price tag of $532,000, he's is still one of the best and most reliable player to buy. I think Cox will continue to dominate (despite getting touched up last week against Redden) will average 100-110pts easy

I have my doubts on other players, so i'm really considering finding cash to squeeze him in my team now.  Has a reasonably easy draw (averaged 118pts first five games last year) so will start with a bang imo! Not much chatter about him and has become abit of a unique due to expensive price tag. Has been a must buy in previous seasons. Seen alot of teams with 'set and forget' premo rucks without Cox, so he can be a great advantage from round 1.

Does anyone else have Cox in the team or considering? Upgrading after the bye? Will Cox continue to score well this season?

Would love to hear thoughts! :)

if you need help with the cox why dont you ask bob katter he seems to know a fair bit about it

mezzoculo

All those things and more (e.g. unique captaincy option) are the reasons he's starting for me. I've had to scrimp on the R2 position as a consequence so am considering Kreuzer, Maric or Giles there.

Windigo

Cox is shaping up as a real unique among the top coached teams.

Could be a great P.O.D, but his price is very off putting, would screw my team up if got him over Mumford.

I have actually fit Cox into my team.... Is he worth the extra $$$?

Chelskiman

I'd need basically $100 to get him into my team.  Really want him though, but I'm happy with the rest of team, and the rucks I have at the moment are solid.

RoughRed

I have spent the money on the big cox. He is injury free, will be used forward where he is very hard to man up (=> some easy possessions) and has a great 5 - 7 game run at the start against opponents he has historically performed very well against. Offset is that I am relying on the rookie rucks in the other three positions.

I find it interesting that most think Goodard a "lock" at his price and indifferent form but question the value in having Cox on board ???

Interesting discussion. I am currently considering him, but can't work out which is the better combo:

Masten-Bate-Cox
OR
Jolly-Dick-Roughead + cash

That's Hayden Jolly, BTW, but I'm not sure he's best 22. What do people think about Dick? I know that Roughead isn't the best option, so I'm leaning towards option 1.

I think a Helbig-Black-Cox is better.

im always keen for longer-cox especially if im going to laycock-in-hooker (jason and cale)

i'm really happy with the rest of my team but im probably going to find cash to get cox . he may initially drop value but will probably be expensive all year imo.  i don't really fancy any other ruckman besides sandilands, but he looks dodgy.

brad dick from west coast? no pre season and pretty sure he is still recoving from injury. still rookie listed and will spend time in the wafl. i think he will only be a depth player for west coast... so absolutely not!

Pretty sure you missed the obvious innuendos that have taken place throughout this entire thread. xD
