Giles...Greater Western Sydney's talked up ruck...started as sub on weekend, on in Q4 and got 2 possies and 8 hitouts 10pts (DT) Brogan,Downie and Phillips other rucks.

Stephenson...29 year old rookie recruited to play...28 (DT) on weekend- 2kicks, 4hb, 1 tackle 7 hitouts, interesting to note that he scored better than West who got smashed by Maric....Vardy is listed as indefinite injury and Hawkins is expected to play forward

Rowe...24 pts (DT) on weekend- 3 kicks, 4 hb, 1 goal, 0 hitouts...behind Kreuzer, Hampson and Warnock (shoulder- back R2?)

Redden...Primus has been prepared to give him a go during the NAB. Scored 82 (DT) pts on the weekend, 3rd best for Port. 5 kicks, 11 hb, 5 tackles, 14 hitouts...Lobbe out injured and not expected back till at least R4. Have Renouf, Westoff and Trengove. Stewart has also done some rucking for them in trials.

If its 2 rookies you need then the obvious choice is giles and redden

Literally just about to post the exact same thing.

I'd like to pose one question though, does anybody think that Stephensen can go longer into the season without a rest compared to Redden/Giles?
I know Z.Smith last year got tired and his scores dropped away towards the end, and many had him as a 3rd ruck.
I also know that Smith was a young kid. Do you think all three of these guys can remain consistent throughout the year?

I took the time to complete the voting options in the Rookie thread O'Connell created. i was initially daunted by the options and failed to read it properly and saw the same ruck options as in this :-[...pretty clear cut that Giles and Redden are deemed to be the best option so that's what I'll be doing all things going well...just hope that Lobbe doesn't force his way in and leave Redden hanging in the 2s for most of the year.

As i posted in another post i think Redden is 2nd behind Giles just, but its his j/s thats a worry. Do people think he could jump Renouf for that number 2 ruck spot. I recon he nearly deserves to the way he's going

Giles - 24 SC in one quarter.

Redden - 117 SC

Hope it helps  :)

Primus would be crazy to ditch Redden.  Great around the ground and out rucked coxy!  Lobbe is on notice come round 4.  I wouldnt be surprised if they ease him back in around game 6, esp if Redden keeps this form.  Bigger than giles and better atm.  A serious 2 nd ruck option!
