whats everyone doing with him? seemed like a lock at the start of the pre-season but could a rookie average just as much and save you 70k.

Are you going with marty clarke?

enzedder

No. Not worth the coin. Points will be mimimal I'd say.

nathan11

havent been overly impressed with him so no just getting GWS instead

steven_ora

im really struggling to decide what to do with him?

quinny88

hes been in and out of my side but ive decided to give him a miss. needed to look a bit sharper in the nab cup for me to justify the 170k

Mozza3

He scored a 68sc for his efforts on the weekend which isn't too bad for his 2nd game.

bennynam

I think he has the potential to make you $200k so it's a no brainer for me.

Capper

no not touching him, backline rookies havent impressed me yet

Give him time - only 1.5 games into AFL come back. Needs time to adjust, but he's a seasoned/mature bodied player, with good skills, who likes to kick. JS should be solid once he finds his feet. Don't forget he's spent a couple of years in Ireland & will need more than 1.5 preseason games (which the Pies aren't taking seriously) to get back into the swing of things. Patience. Don't forget that GWS youngsters will be in & out every few weeks just like GC players last year - at least with Clarke we know he has the ability to play week in, week out.

has he really got the JS  know he can play but how many games will they give him to get up to speed At Collingwood expect everyone to improve on that performance. Marty Clarke ($170,000 def) was a lot better in his second pre-season appearance (15 disposals, 69 SC points) and Peter Yagmoor ($106,600 def) continues to impress in a similar rebounding role (13 disposals).

Quite a few people seem to think that Yagmoor will play ahead of Clarke, but I keep thinking that one is 18 & one is 24. I know age is by no means the only determining factor in a players' ability to get games - in fact far from it - but as the long season rolls on, I'd bank on a mature 24 y.o. getting more games than an 18 not used to the rigours of AFL footy. Not saying that I'll definitely get either, but Clarke a v. strong chance for my Rd. 1 team, that's all.

B: Tarrant Brown Toovey
HB: Shaw Reid O'Brien

Maxwell, Johnson, Goldsack, Rounds, Buckley, Yagmoor, Young, Clarke

I'm pretty sure the captain will get a gig. I can't see Marty pushing Dale Thomas out of the team on the wing. Clarke's JS isn't exactly what i would describe as solid.

Interesting/good point when put like that. However, would have thought Clarke would be ahead of Johnson (injuries a real worry), Goldsack (drifts in & out of the side), Rounds, Buckley, Yagmoor & Young... What about the other wing?

C: Thomas Ball Clarke

Bench: Maxwell Wood(?) Goldsack (Sub: Fasolo)

Who outside of this team pushes out Clarke? Ben Johnson if fit - not sure I can say the same of Rounds, Buckley, Yagmoor or Young... I could be 100% wrong though! :)

maybe wellingham depending on form

ubeaut

Definetly Wellingham. Clarke was in my plans to start with. I've since realised he will take a while to re-adjust to the AFL, and would have to play bloody well to get a regular gig in a top team. As said Reid,Tarrant,Shaw,Brown,O'Brien and Maxwell/Toovey the first six with Johnson to come he will likely be in and out at the start and get the vest. He is however a fit and skillfull player and will be in the pies longer term plans. If he starts killing it he could make a great downgrade target should one of your mid price players fail.
