With essendon beating Saints tonight there is some interesting matches coming up. The thing that really stuns me is essendon broke saints zone at etihad which no one else has done this year. This means that maybe Ross Lyon has flirted with saints form. It puts the Pies in the box seat as they play well at the g. Who doy you think poses a threat to sai.nts in the finals?

hibbo

Bombers pace and 'move the ball at all costs' always cuts Saints up - and is the only way to break down the zone. I still think Saints are in the box seat for the flag, the Pies play the opposite to the Dons and can't break down the zone. Geelong will of course be up there and IMO are the Saints main threat.

Crows90

At the moment I think it'll be a St Kilda Collingwood grand final but Geelong will definitley have something to say about that. The Cats are only in 3rd gear right now and are clearly not playing there best footy. But the question is can they get all there important players back (and in form) in time for the finals?

Alex7089

the only thing that is worrying me is that Pies play well at MCG and Saints ot so much. No doubt it was the bombers pace that broke saints down and I think it ws well coached by knighta. I think maybe collingwood saints grand final but if that does happen the ground will become a factor because pies play there so often

hibbo

What makes you say the Saints don't play well at the MCG? We did beat the Pies there last year in the Semi Final...

Crows90

Agreed hibbo, If a team is good enough to win 19 games straight then it shoudnt matter where there playing.

Alex7089

At the MCG their zone is easier to break down and beat. Yes the beat the pies but they played differently last year. I think if a team is well coached it could prove a great deal in the finals

Hmmm, well at Aurora Stadium stadium which is one of the biggest AFL grounds they did alright - thrashed the Hawks. Besides, the way the Pies play it falls right into the Saints trap, the way they chip it around the boundary. I'm not sure why people keep saying the Saints don't play well at the MCG?

CFC 1979

Geelong the best side at the MCG. Just better than Magpies. Saints will get lost if they make it. You can be sure they will get 2 Dome games in finals but the expanse of the G will test them

If St. Kilda play a prelim against Collingwood or Geelong, it won't be at the Dome. AFL will put it at MCG for more people. Geelong don't play finals at Skilled!

Alex7089

Saints footy is not set up to play finals footy. Collingwood can beat your zone hibbo because the ground at the 'G is bigger thus more holes... Plus pies play very well at the 'G

hibbo

We can only wait and see I guess.

I guess you're right hibbo
