which option?

Chris Masten
John McCarthy

Other (please comment)

I'm definitely trying to have a mid priced player at #5 as I don't think there at that many fantastic cash cows as there were last year, especially with Neale going down and my heart telling me that GWS will rotate their squad a lot!

At the moment, my MID is
Scott Pendlebury, Matthew Boyd, Gary Ablett, Jobe Watson, Chris Masten, Anthony Miles (McDonald, Magner)

For my 5th MID, I'm either going to have
Chris Masten, John McCarthy or a Rookie + 150k

which option would you choose and why?
I believe that Masten and McCarthy both can easily break out and average 90+

please comment and vote, let me know what you think  :D

They both do have a chance but Masten would be better than McCarthy. It would depend on the rest of you team if you wanted to get a rook and upgrade elsewhere.

Go with Treloar so you have DPP then upgrade Waters to Goddard.

Masten 90 + Waters 80-85 = 170-175
vs.
Treloar 65 + Goddard 95-100 = 160-165

Masten will not average 90. Worsfold won't be playing him in the midfield all game.
Waters also will probably average 70s not that much of a dt force.
Goddard will average 105, has averaged over 110 in the past.

Masten 75-85 + Waters 70-80 = 145-165
Goddard 100-110 + Treloar 65 = 165-175 and has DPP ability

I'm a bit bias though because I hate the eagles so keep that in mind.

If I thought Waters was going to get 70's I'd go Duffman - but after that 140 v Geelong last year and his game two days ago I think he'll average 85ish.
Not sure if I'll start Goddard, he definitely isn't certain to average 100 and Masten has been eagles' best behind Cox this whole pre-season - he's proving himself. will certainly average 85+ if he doesn't get the vest!

I'll go McDonald OUT,
Treloar IN

anybody who bad mouths waters scoring potential clearly doesnt have a DT clue (or is trying to deter as many people as they can) to state he will only be a 70s ave player is ridiculous. Where is the evidence to say his going to be very ordinary. His first hit out was smashing it in the game time his played. The only way hell ave in the 70s is if he gets injured and subbed out a couple of times in the first quarter of matches. DT GUN!!!!!

Woah, Masten averaging 90?

It cannot be possible.  :P

Anything is possible. It just might not be that likely.

Personally I think he will have a good season this year, maybe not 90 but enough to consider him.

My advice is to wait and see how he goes this weekend in the NAB Cup grand final. This will give us a better look at where he will play/how he will score during the regular season.

Sarcasm?  ???

He did average 100 in the games that he wasn't green vested last season!

Still in an awkward price. Not enough for a 4th mid and too expensie for a 5th mid.

I'm rolling with Clifton at 5. Could easily average 75+. Depends how Masten goes.

If Masten is going to average 90 then I might as well get on him.

the way he's going, I'm definitely backing him to score 88+
