Personal Signature

Don't know if this has been raised up before, but an idea sprang upon me:
For certain emailing sites (such as Outlook), there is an option to create a signature for yourself, which really can be your name or a clever sentence, that will always automatically appear at the bottom of the box where you type a new email to someone.
I thought that this may be an idea that could be used in the FanFooty Forum, as it can be a way to siginify people a bit better, by having FF members create a personal signature somewhere wtihin the edit profile, and this could appear at the bottom of the box where you type a new reply to a post. It wouldn't have to be compulsory to actually have a personal signature appear but it can be an option for everyone. Also, it could only be for certain Boards.
I know that there have been people in the past (such as Rooboys (RB), Hellopplz (HP), and possibly MajorLazer (ML), oh and also AFEV (Sid) did it once... forgive my memory if i am wrong however) who have attempted to try and do this themselves by manually putting in something consistent at the end of every post....
I dont know how possible it would be to have this on the current way that FF is currently set up, but it is an idea.

Am i on the money here? or would it be a waste...? Yay? Nay? Cheer? Boo?

Thanks, Luigi ;)

Yeah, I did it at two stages. One was a plug for Personality of the Year and the other time was to show others it's possible to have a signature and keep it going for a while :P.

It'd be a handy feature no doubt, just have to keep an eye out that the signatures stay G rated and aren't abusive to others if installed. If it's possible as only m0nty would know.

TheMailman

I'd be for it but my opinion doesn't count for much  :P

Good idea though

yeahh :)

I thought it wouldn't be a bad idea! :D

Just will wonder if m0nty knows if its possible on the current system running for the FF Forum.... :/ :\

PowerBug

Well, we do have the writing under our image too. That is sort of a signature.

m0nty

I deliberately didn't include it because it clutters up the page a lot, and gets really repetitive. I know a fair few forums have it, but I don't want this to be that sort of forum.

Fair point. Understood.

I will raise this point however, that if by cluttering up the page, you mean the ones that have the giant rectangular picture..., i can say that i myself wasn't meaning that, i was more referring to something simple, with limitations that is, like what i would or might have as my personal signature, at the end of this post. just a line really.

Just another opinion, from Luigi! :)

I really don't see the point in signatures. Agree with m0nty that they shouldn't be implemented on this site.

Cant you just use the free text field in your profile as a signature (which is what a lot of people already do) and then it appears every time you comment

What?
If you are talking about the personal text, then yes, you could use that as your personal signature; but that is under your profile picture; separate to the reply post.

yeh but you see it everytime you post, so its pretty much your signature. Doesnt even clog up the page either
