With so many midfield rookies suffering injuries or question marks weather they will play round one, has it got to the point where it would perhaps be a better idea to load up with an extra premium mid rather than other positions on the ground? Even finding 4 mid rookies that are definate starters is becoming difficult

Nope. Magner will play, neale should be right by rd 2. Shiel by rd 1 (unknown form). What other rooks questionable?

They were actually my 3 main concerns as they are all in my team. Where are you getting that information though? I read that Magner had a severe break in his finger and shiel we all hope plays by round 1 but i havent heard anything about him all pre season. If he doesnt play in the nab next week then im not so sure where he will be at. James mcdonald was my other concern. looks like a steal but hasnt set the world on fire in the nab and has worn the vest every game

And if neale is due back for round 2 then i can predict a run through the wafl before playing for freo which depending on form could mean round 4 or 5

i think jmac is getting the vest becasue he's a million y/o and needs to nurse his workload to get through the year.

Excactly, and i can see that being an issue through the season including games that he is rested all together

You can't expect J Mac to set the world on fire at 35 FFS!  As for wearing the vest in the PS, why on Earth would he need to play every game of the NAB? Pretty sure the Giants are using the NAB to find out which of their kids can play, rather than their 35 year old with about 700 games of AFL experience!

Settle petal, it was just an opinion. We all know that he was picked up by gws as a mentor and coach more so that a footballer so im just concerned that he will play minimal games or be vested throughout the season

and i would expect him to look a bit more polished than the 18 year old kids in his team that have never played afl

+1, His role looks like he'll play early but how much game time who knows and he was gunning it when the Demons gave him the flick
