Cox is a lock for me, but my number 2 spot is up for grabs. I currently have Mumford, but if it wasnt for byes, I'd probably have HMac coz at 296k he's so hard to ignore. In previous seasons (back in the good, old bye-free days), I'd go for the Cox + injured-returning-value-ruckman ie. Simmonds (yeah way back then), HMac & Hille. And they all worked out well.

Question is, is having two round 11 bye ruckman feasible (especially if you have Giles on the bench)? Would you risk it?

Could be a viable strategy but keep in mind that Cox, Hmac and Giles all have the round 11 bye...

Well, you'd just have to trade HMac out or hope that two of Redden, Stephensen & Rowe are getting games in round 11. I'd probably just upgrade HMac before r11. It's a combo that I've considered. Was it 2009 that everyone had the Cox-Hmac duo?

has been my lock combo since registration.

Likewise
Coz is an out n out gun!
Hmac is a value pick

11 rounds give 8 rounds of cash boost for HMAC
thats more then enough time to upgrade him IMO

Not to mention 8 rounds of cashing up rookies! A juicy rookie + A juicy Hmac = A gun ruckman

This year is not a 'lock n leave' ruck combo. Too many good options with same price. I'm taking cox and starting redden, Giles or big O. Then using cash to lock in fwd or defender. Upgrade ruck to standout ruck man come Max BE for rookie rucks

Yes it is an option because I don't see H Mac as a keeper, more of a consistent scoring cash cow.

He should earn enough cash before round 11 to trade him out for someone else who is carving it up.

The reason why i have Hmac instead of Giles or Redden starting is that I see his scoring to be more consistent - in theory.

Eg. If Giles scores 60's and the odd 80 compared to Mac who may score 80's and the odd 100.  The prices will both increase, but paying out the little extra for Macintosh could net you more points in the meantime, while you wait for him for reach 'maturity'.
