always struggled to get games at collingwood cos the midfield is far too strong, but now that john mccarthy is at port adelaide looks at home in the port midfield, thoughts on him being a bit of a good unique pick up?

always rated him as a pies player, just with the talent we had he couldnt get a gig in the mids.

when he did play and wasnt subbed, he scored pretty well. if he can play 22 in the mids for port, he's very underpriced. should average 75-85 ill say, maybe even more. just depends if he fits in your strategy/structure.

From what we've seen - probably a better pick than the other 170k+ rookies - like Turkies said though - It depends on your team structure!

McCarthy will get more opportunity being at Port this year and with that I'd say his avg will increase significantly more than last season and should make some coin. 75 - 85 avg sounds about right. definitely one to consider if he fits your team structure.

If your looking for a mid that's in the 200k bracket and is a bit cheaper keep your eye on Lucas from Carlton

lucas wont get enough game time and i'd bet you'll struggle to find a structure that includes a 280k midfielder to be upgraded later. honestly 75-85 isn't THAT good, you can probably find a rookie priced player to ave similar.

Lucas has been playing on the wing, game time won't be the problem

Josh Caddy, then McCarthy, then go down to Coniglio/Wingard, then maybe Lucas at a stretch
