Hogan- 160k cat. Looked great last week and in the mini matches, although today he didnt impress. He has some psychological problems but hopefully he is over that. His job security will be good but not sure on scoring potential as he is a tagger...

kavanagh- 106k bomber. Hasnt been brilliant in nab but has been ok, probly hasnt lived up to his rep as yet. Im unsure on his job security and his scoring ability. Any bomber fans out there got some insight?

neale- 106k docker. Has good scoring potential as seen in the nab mini matches...im unsure on his job security though. And freo fans got an idea?

summary: hogan is 60k more expensive than the others but will get games. Neale has scoring potential but concisteny and job security is the key. I dont have much info on the kavanagh front

So who should it be?

Big_Cox14

Hogan has been used as a tagger in the cats games and could fill the position vacated from Ling's retirement as a tagger. I see upside from him and he's technically not a rookie (just rookie priced).

Neale has been playing pretty well in NAB cup and Lyon has been publicly singing his praises. Strong chance of a rnd 1 debut and cheaper than Hogan.

Kavanagh - Don't know too much about him except that he plays for the bombers.

IMO it would be Neale > Hogan > Kavanagh. Though I have both Hogan & Neale in my current team.

yangers95

Only issue with kavanagh is whether he will start round one, he will get games but unsure on round 1.
If he starts r1, chuck him in, he should score fairly well, of not go with Neale.

Outlook
It was a tough season for the smart on-baller who was given time off in the first half of the year to deal with personal issues. Returned to the VFL line-up and broke through to play one game at AFL level, but was squeezed out as Geelong’s finals preparation stepped up. Has been in the system a few years and will be looking for more opportunities in the midfield.

UPDATE: Shone in the first Full NAB CUP game, looks to be on top of everything and playing great footy, consider his JS, then consider him. Not new to footy.

Mid Priced Player Rating: (MID) - 7/10 - may be generous, he will get senior games when he is right and i think this season he will be right. named in cats vfl sides best on ground 5 times last season and is "dealing with" the depression so that should not be an obstacle this season. Just needs the opportunity of getting a senior game and for his ridiculous low price would be a good pick, on the flip side the best rooks out there are probably more attractive hence my hesitant rating for him.

Lachie Neale
#27   Fremantle Dockers
Age: 18yr 8mth    Games: 0     Born: May 24, 1993
Height: 177cm     Weight: 77kg     Position: Midfield
Last Drafted: Round 3, Pick #58 2011 National Draft
Last Drafted By: Fremantle Dockers
Supercoach Price: $106,600
Dreamteam Price: $98,700

South Australian Lachie Neale is the fourth selection for Freo in the Draft.

Pick 58 - Lachie Neale - 18yrs, 177cm - Lachie has had an outstanding season. He dominated U18 footy for Glenelg, played all 5 championship games for South Australia and finished the last 7 games in Glenelgs League side having a real impact. He is an inside midfielder who can play forward and apply terrific pressure. He is tough and wins contested footy. He has an enormous workrate and desire to get the footy. His clean hands and quick handballs are elite. Lachie is an outstanding character. Lachie’s testing at the state combine was impressive across the board. His standing VJ of 73 and RVJ of 95 is elite. His 8.24 agility, 14.2 beep and 3.00 sprint are all very good times as well. Lachie averaged 31.3 disposals, 5.6 marks, 5.1 inside 50s and 6.4 clearances per game at SA U18 level.

Pick 58 Fact - Reigning Brownlow Medallist Dane Swan was selected by Collingwood at pick 58 in the 2003 National Draft.

Rookie Player Rating (MID) 6.5/10 - not sure about the mancrush but looked impressive at the intra club hitout, averaged 20 disposals in the sanfl, bog in teh under 18's final. Thinking he would make a good cash cow rook but not sure about opportunities at FREO? One to watch as he does seem to have skills

Rookie Player Rating (MID) 8/10 - only question is his hamstring, and how well the bombers have got him fit and strengthened him up for the main gaw.. On skills and abilities this guy would have gone top 5 in the draft but his injuries let him slide down the pecking order. If fit he will play and if he plays he will be a gun, will he play much early? will re get injured again? will he cop a lot of vests? these are the scary questions nabcup appearances will help with the decision to have him or not but i still rate him an 8 as he is a dead set gun with great JS if fit.

NEALE INJURED ANKLE IN TODAYS GAME! ON CRUTCHES :/

Jay

All options have 2 votes haha! But no votes for neale after his game today, obviously due to his anlle injury. Think im leaning to kavanagh, just...also i find it staggering that 190 people have viewed yet only 6 have voted?! Just doesnt make sense

Friggen Murphy's law! Neale was a lock after his NAB cup form and guaranteed a start from the coach. I suppose it was too easy, gotta make us work for our rookies! I'm p!ssed off on two levels, being a Dockers boy.  >:(  Didn't really have my eye on Kav though, so that's one positiv.e from this thread  :)

Views don't count seperate people - If you click this thread 5 times, it will show 5 views, same with others seeing the updated results of the poll.
But I agree, 190 with 6 votes is a bit ridiculous :P

I went with Kav - I had him in my side since SC opened.
I traded him out for Neale yesterday. Is this a sign?
He's back in for now.

Not a fan of this lock down talk about Hogan.
Having said that though, to be honest, I'm just going with my gut about Kav.

So it's your fault!  ;D

Big_Cox14

Now that Neale's out injured. I'm gonna change my vote to Hulk Hogan.

oldshepp

I don't think Neale's ankle is that serious. This week's injury lists may tell us more
