The more and more that leaks out, the more disappointing it is. Not just for football, but for Australia.

jurrah you stupid soab. That being said, 3000 for bail is pretty low considering what the offence looks like, so maybe he wont get in serious trouble.

Charged with what? Arming himself in a very serious aboriginal community dispute?

I think you guys are being pretty harsh considering you'd have no idea about the issue, nor could you understand indigenous family conflict. It never says he used it, or had intention of using it, he simply armed himself. And considering he is a well known footballer, he would seem to be the best target for an rival family member to attack. Stop with the sensationalist crap.

He like any other good family member rushed to the aid of his family in bad circumstances and has obviously been caught up in it. My guess is he was arrested to protect him and no doubt was done against his will because his family are in danger.

I don't pretend to understand the issues of Aboriginal Australia, but it is important to note that these issues aren't isolated to Aboriginals in Australia.

There is plenty of family warfare going on in Melbourne, Sydney and in small country towns. Regardless of race.

This is just people being people.

+1 ossie it does get annoying , everyone has problems of some sought   , Not all are given chances to play AFL can't understand why they jeopardise it   ???

Using race as a reason or a deciding factor in guilt or innocence is a massive cop out, and is just an excuse.

Facts are that he armed himself and made threats during a dispute and caused injury via an assault. If it wasn't that way, he wouldn't have been charged.

Enough Said.

No its not an excuse. But defending oneself is a pretty primal thing to do and  I'll bet you'd do the same if your family was threatened in that scenario where the cops aren't 5mins away in the cushy suburb (in comparison to the bush) where ever you live. Police do apprehend people to take people out of the equation for potential escalation and because of his fame, as I said earlier, he would have been the perfect person to provoke and target.

Yes because AFL is more important than your family?

And to be charged does not mean you are found guilty by the way.
