Talisman

He is 27 - in his prime - and has played 2 full, 22 game seasons in his career. In those 2 seasons, he averaged 100 & 96 in SC. I can't see any reason at all why if (I'll get to that later!) he plays the whole year, he can't average around 100ppg - which would likely place him in the top 10 defenders for the year.

Now I'll get back to the if... And here is my real question: Can Nick Malceski play 22 games (or at least 20) this year? Would love any feedback/thoughts people might have on this issue, as it could save coaches $150,000 on a premium/keeper defender. Hmmm....

ando_10

very good point.

i think he is worth a punt on 4th defender if he can play 22 games then he may be a steal

Hippo

I think his team mate smith would be worth the punt more so, similar role and has both knees intact

Legen...DARY

Could potentially follow in the foot steps of Adcock last year. (who I took a punt on at the start of the year and paid off big time!)

Keep watching NAB... from all reports he's had a good pre season and fully fit.

Malceski is definitely one to consider.
I don't have him at the moment...but he was in my initial planning and should anything happen to my top 4 defenders before Round 1 he will be on my shortlist again. Cheap. Proven scorer. Killed it 2 years ago. If he plays all 22 and you had him I don't think you'd be disappointed at year's end. I think he'll play 18ish...crystal ball stuff though.

Mozza3

The backline is one place to take a gamble but his knees are a concern and I'm not sure if he's best 22. Last year he was in and out of the team and even spent some time in the forward line if I can remember correctly.

fever

he's in mine at D5 atm but there was talk on the syd page that had him not in the best 22 (found that surprising, but maybe they'd know)
