BACKLINE!

As of yet my backline stands at:

Goddard, Deledio, Enright, XXXXX, Hargrave, Rookies.

I am really stuck on which defender to top off my backline with; I think it would be good to start with a proven gun, such as Sucker, Birch or Heater, however if I got one of the possible breakouts such as Hep or Broughts I would free up a bit of moolah that could be used elsewhere. If i got duffman, that would leave me with a heap of cash and the option to upgrade either him or hargrave if they do not perform early in the year.

Thoughts appreciated!

Birch for mine.  Proven gun and his early NAB form looks like he is in good stead to continue.

Picking Heppell or Broughts wouldn't net you all that much cash.  I'd prefer to lock in someone i'd imagine would be in the upper echelon of backmen. 

Duffman gets a big fat no deal from me.  Jump on if you like rollercoasters.  I once went on board and the constant disappointments sent me spare.

Heath Shaw definitely.

Birchall will rip it up. Shaw will probably do something stupid again so I wouldn't risk him. Suckling didn't perform overly well during DT finals time last yearso I'd wait and if he performs look at him as an upgrade target. Heppell is on my radar.

At the his point I'd do Heppell because his cheaper than the others and should avg the same as the others.

My defence is Goddard, Shaw, Broughton and Birchall.
So Birchall and Shaw for me. I like Broughton, and I hope everybody jumps off his bandwagon... better for me ;)
Can't go wrong with any of the options listed except Duffield - way too risky for his price IMO.
