@Memphistopheles - my thoughts on the backs are that you want all premiums in there eventually but the rooks score the worst so start with the best backline you can afford to minimise dud rooks, mid and fwd rooks both score more and make more $. the other side of it is apart from the top few defenders the rest score average so mid pice it up not much to lose from the high 80's premiums down to the mid priced options.
I was tempted to drop heppell have 3 elite and 3 mid priced but id rather start with 4 ill keep all season plus 2 that will make money or become keepers (conca/hargrave). The 3rd midpricer would have been Grimes, that's captain Grimes to you :)

@Whatlez - As for Howard i just can't pick him over hargrave based on performance so far, but if he impresses again next game like he did in the first (67 in shortened game) he will be back in, its him or hargrave for that #6 spot.

@LE - clarke not worth the extra $40k ellis will outscore him, its just finding 3 others that will also (bugg/darley/smedts/morris) ?

I can c Hargraves becoming a Enright/Mackie/Corey scoring player that Geelong have. With Brendan McCartney at the helm, i reckon he will b employing what made Geel so successful thru the backline which will free Hargraves up to set up the attacks forward!!

In saying that im trying to find a spot for him in my team. Considering dropping either Shaw or Birchall for him and then upgrading either Redden or Stepho to Hmac!! Atm have Giles as 2nd ruck

i am SERIOUSLY looking at slipping in Garland too, love how he is looking this season and he finished last 4 games last season with a BULLET.

Only thoughts are how will captain jack grimey grimes effect his scoring when he is back in the defensive lineup ?

He's not bad but if you're considering Grimey or Lake or even someone like Clarke it does raise the question of how much cash are you willing to put into midpriced backs? If there's any doubt or his form yo-yo's too much preseason I don't think I'll take him.
