Ok so, think about this, you start Giles on ground freeing up a fair bit of money.

You use that extra money to upgrade (For me) two forwards to Elitemids.

Then the two rookies that you have in your midfield, you move to the forward line.

Or just choose two new rookies in your forward line.

This way, you only loose out on your ruck and you still have the same amount of rookies just more in the forward line.

Now, the points you (Could) lose from your ruck, Giles might be good or the Big O... whoever it is, would be made up for by the two new elites.

And (IF) the rucks come good, BAM, extra points.

Thoughts?

i like that your thinking outside the box but i still dont think its the best idea, midfield rookies make more money than other areas so it will take you longer to upgrade the rest of your team i think.... maybe it could work but you need some big balls to try it in your real team

That is all true, but a lot of the mid rooks are mid/fwrd which helps this plan a lot!

I'd say 6 premiums is too much as mid rookies are better then other position rookies.

I'm going in the middle with 5 premiums of Swan, Ablett, Boyd, Rocky and Stanton.

Birryfy

I think I might make a separate team, see how it goes!

Speculator

I think 5 premium mids is also too many. there are a lot of good mid rooks and not too many bac or fwds the way i see it

Birryfy

But like I said, there's plenty of Mid/Fwd combo rookies as well.

I'm thinking 5 prem mids and still got an awesome team. Backs are weak though...

Just a thought, wouldn't you be better off strengthening your back line and have a weaker forward line?

I say this because, its hard to find good scoring Defenders, so having only good ones is best.

Then choose forwards that could become better or can kick a lot of goals.

Yeah I was thinking of making a second team primarily with players that just missed the cut for my best team, with players like Selwood, Birchall, Chapman, Goodes etc.

Sounds like a good plan.

No, Fwds are better to stack. Having 3 prem backs is enough.

Point taken.

I started my team with 5 prem mids and have now taken it back to 3. I have 2 mid pricers in there atm but after this weekend i may release them back into the wild.

I was of the same thinking in get prem mids in and get some awesome points from them. But i have picked an extra back and fwd prem and have cash left over for my first trades

I am seriously considering this approach. The reason being, at the start of the season there should be a greater chance of picking top 10 defender premiums than forward premiums. This is due primarily by the absolute truckload of forward eligible DPP options this season as prepared to previous years. Also, I personally think that there a some forward rookies who will post mid-price defender like scores, so better value for money there.
