Are we getting too technical??

I've been thinking about this for a while now, and decided to make a thread on it. Are we trying to get too much value in our sides, trying to see the upside in absolutely everyone, think that everyone could be a scorer?? Should we just stick to 15 guns and 15 rookies, or is finding mid-pricer or the lower premium worth it?? I personally think it's best to go simple, but i'm not the greatest DT'er in the world (yet)

Thoughts??

*Sorry if i've just leaked something that someone wanted to keep quiet, but i just had to say it

I think the correct mid pricesr will set you apart.

If you had Redden, Rockliff & Shiel from the start you'd be laughing.

ye but there rare to find the mid pricer you have to go the extra mile and take  ahuge risk which im not prepared to do. I just dropped the brown dawg and jack grimes currently have none all guns and rooks. i think the redden, rockliff shiels guy this year could be Gary Rohan or Kane Lucas, but not to the same extent as in they'll have breakouts, but too much of a risk for me

Windigo

Fair enough. I'm rolling currently with just the one risk.

That's Ellis. His a great scorer when in full fitness. I'm hoping this is his year for 90+

The winner of DT last year started with Fyfe and Rockliff. Its those gutsy calls that can give you the advantage but its about identifying those hidden gems and backing them in.

He also didn't start with Goddard.

Where as I didn't have Rock at all, got Fyfe too late and started with Goddard.  FML.

I'm thinking more about those people that have/had HMac, Brown, Grimes, Christensen, Porplyzia, Kane Lucas :o, Starting Giles.

I don't have any of those players.

Except "starting Giles."  :P

Kane Lucas is such a dodgy pick to go with after just some half baked NAB teams/games.

PowerBug

Excatly, why get Lucas with little back-up when Coniglio, Wingard are cheaper with less downside. :)

Are you also saying about the byes?

And now that two mid pricers (Brown and Grimes) have gone down, we are out options...

i think that one mid pricer is enough and that they should be either in the forwards or backs. I am starting with hargrave in the back line at the moment. The midfield will always be guns and rookies for me

Actually, my team is virtually complete. And I must say it looks dominant.  8)

Clifton & Wingard at 5 & 6. Only real worries are Ellis.  :P

bowyanger

mid pricers are predominately guaranteed to play

If your starting cheapos, they predominately in the first few rounds will get green vested

Its fluking (to a fair degree) the right cheapos that will play whole games & not get injured early in the season forcing you to use trades

or

picking a mid pricer that increases by 20ppg and turns into a keeper  is just as hard, you have lost out on 200K in some instances (by not picking a cheapo instead) to spend on an upgrade when a mid pricer treads water, a thing to consider though is that this mid pricer maybe still banging along at 70ppg, where as a vested cheapo has scored you 25. A massive difference when trying to keep up with overall. 30 points can be the difference of 1000 rankings.

with so many variables of coach, draw, injury, pre season undertaken, team form & with such a huge prize available, its just natural we are going to try and get any advantage over the competition

= analysis

common sense?

strange topic really
