One name would have been on everyones lips sunday night.....Rory Sloane!!

The kid can play. 12 kicks, 1 goal, a heap of contested possesions and all in 35 minutes of game-play (51 DT points).
He looks like he has his body perfect and can cover the feild as a midfielder well.
If he can keep his current form going, he seems like a very good pickup at $429,500 as your 4th or 5th midfielder.

If he plays this well through the rest of the nab cup, he may just squeeeeeeze his way into my team.

yorgis

he's good , but i would prefer to have a keeper or a rook in the mids

Justin Bieber

Considering, but what Yorgis said.

Check out JPK's & Leeroy Jetta's NAB last year....then look at their season form

Pre season = Sweet F.A except nuubs likely to play rd 1 like Gibson, Hall etc

Ziplock

look at fyfe, shiels, suckling, redden, rockliff's pre season form last year in NAB cup. I wouldn't say it means flower all at all.

yes great examples bud

but risks too gr8 IMO

Ziplock

aren't jetta and kennedy forwards in teams that already have a main target up front? Whilst sloane is a midfielder, and one of the better ones in his team (not that that's hard.)

bowyanger

JPK is a midfielder for Swans

But hey...dont take my word for it

I just think taking someones form from a game where people are played out of normal position, the rules are different, kids are played, stars are rested, coaches tell players to go out there but dont try that hard (Paul Roos a few years back, the resultant low scores of Swan etc.) ...its just a lot of variable key factors to consider in someones performance

Its a practice match that most coaches mainly use to get a good look at the nuubs

Ziplock

*facepalm* I was thinking of JJK.

yeah, I'd be wary of NAB cup scores- especially this year. The last touch rule especially is going to distort averages, esp. for ruckmen, and players with a long penetrating kick.

I do agree that nab cup doesnt mean as much as the normal season when it comes to scores and what not, all I am saying is that this could be the year that Sloane takes his game to the next level. And I reckon the crows are a good chance to finish top 8 undo Sando. And with a proven midfield that just needed a coach to get them working may just be where the winning starts.
VB, Dangerfield, Thompson, Vince and Sloane are all proven gun midfielders, they just needed a coach that gives them the right tools and instructions, and for dangerfield, a license to go for a jog.

the crows have a deep list with some great young talent, and are finally injury free. Lets hope they prove themselves this year.

Thats my opinion.

P.S. Get ready to hand Porps a all-australian guernsey this year, he is fit, and will be firing!!

Sure...

Why not...I havnt considered it yet...and I wont think too long...it may hurt

Hawthorn without an E
Bluebaggers
The Aints
Dropped Pies
Girlong
Syderrrneee
Wet Toast
North

Fooderrrzzzcrrraaaayyyy
Malbin
Tiges
The Purple Pooh
Dons
Cows
Suns

P A P Smears
GWS

Mainly I reckon Collingwood has buckleys of doing any better, havnt gained any players but have lost a few like Caff, Krak Neon & MM. Also havnt been given a massive draw advantage this year...how many games did they play away from Melbs last year? Will make a huge difference

Girlong have lost 4 / 5 guns to retirement without replacements to the same standard (Yet to be seen..Orry maybe a fitting replacement for Ottens)

North & Blues have ripper draws which helps a lot. Stars are relatively young. Norths got a good coach IMO. Can only improve

Saints have 1/2 dozen genuine stars who wont get worse at playing the game this year really...new coach will be interesting....

Positions 6 - 11 in my list could shuffle around...thats where the real competion will lie this year I reckon
