Captain

Hi all, First post on Fan Footy, so go easy (but be honest!)

Here's my team as it currently looks;

D: Goddard, Deledio, Suckling, Gilbert, Lake, Smedts, Bugg (Spurr, morris)

C: Pendelbury, Ablett, Judd, Barlow, Hayes, Shiel, (Kavanagh, Neale)

R: Sandilands, Giles, (Rowe, Stephensen)

F: Beams, Pavlich, O'Keefe, Martin, N Riewoldt, Porplyzia, D Smith, (Dick, Zorko)

Left over $11, 900

I'd certainly appreciate some advice from some more experienced DT gurus!
Thanks guys!!

I'm assuming new to DT?

Not to be rude or disrespectful, but some of those choices are horrendous... please don't hate me.

You certainly could do with some advice.

Your backs are not too bad but there are better options out there than Lake and Gilbert - Conca, Grimes, Waters, Duffield. Most people have Birchall over Suckling.

In the mids: Judd is a SC gun not a DT one. Get Murphy if you must have a Carlton player otherwise Swan, Boyd, Mitchell or Selwood.

Hayes is a bit risky returning from a knee injury and Barlow has been struggling a bit during the pre-season.

There are better options than Kavanagh as a mid rookie i think. Neale from Freo could be good or Magner from Melbourne if he gets upgraded.

Up forward I really think Sidebottom is a better option than Beams as a Coll forward, O'Keefe is unique but getting on a bit - Goodes would be my pick.

No on Porplyzia, Smith and Dick as well. Try Christenson or Brown for the porpoise and Aaron Hall, Hampton, Saad or Treloar.

Jukes

This is one of those teams where the coach has done some research but not enough (for my liking, at least). Good start though, but a lot of room for improvement. Start by taking out Porp, Smith, Dick, Judd and maybe Barlow and Hayes. Those are the players that should not be in your team. The other choices are good but there are better choices over O'Keefe, Kavagnah, Riewoldt and Gilbert.

Thanks for the feedback guys. I have made quite a few changes. Any further suggestions on this version;

D: Scotland, Goddard, Deledio, Birchall, Lake, M Clarke, Smedts,  (Mohr,Morris)

C: Pendelbury, Boyd, Ablett, Gibbs, Shiel, Neale, (McDonald, Magner)

R: Sandilands, Giles, (Jenkins, Stephensen)

F: Franklin, Fyfe, Zharharakis, Martin, N Riewoldt, Saad, Zorko, (Hampton, Sexton)

Really appreciate some thoughts.

what is wrong with kavanagh? gilbert is a risk that could pay off
what is wrong with hayes and lake, both really cheap and once again, only way to get ahead in this game is to take risks

Captain

I think I read that Kavanagh had some injury concern and would be brought along slowly. Neale, McDonald and Magner seem more likely bets at this stage.

The Lake and Hayes risks I'm still considering, but to get Hayes, I would have to trade down from one of my keepers (a bit anyway). Probably will end up with Hayes before it starts! I still have Lake, but might consider Christian Howard or Conca as well.

Might drop Zaharakis or N Riewoldt back to a Christensen so I can get Hayes in.

Bloody hell this is all confusing!!

TheMailman

Good team, just keep looking at the Nab for developments, your rookies look fine

I might be a bit concered with Gibbs, occasionally destroys his score with the odd tagging role

drop riewoldt before zaha, zaha has mpp and is on the up while riewoldt seems to be on the down (still good though)

kavanagh is playing nab cup tonight so not sure about the injury
