Why are so many people persisting with Barlow in their side.

Its sad to say but he will never be the same player he was.

Its not so long ago when Nathan Brown broke his leg in a similar way. He played a couple than missed a couple due to soreness.

He lost all penetration in his kicking it ruined his career.

The rumours are Barlow is struggling with soreness to his leg. No diferent to Nathan Brown

Please correct me if im wrong

your right, i think people are just willing to take the chance then maybe upgrade later to a premium, just for the sake of saving some dough from the start.

i for 1 won't take that chance, coz he won't be a keeper and it's a waste of a trade anyway.

Dude Barlow is 24 and Brown is 23. Barely a quarter through their career

What on earth are you saying about their careers being over?

Pendlebury cracked his fibula in 09, Ziebell broke legs in 2010, Mundy etc. are all viable options being considered this year despite breaking legs in the past?

Barlow played 9 games last year, averaging 86 despite a 25 and a 47.

Obviously with some leg soreness he'll be put back a bit but to claim that his (and Brown's) footballing career is over?

Rubbish

Nathan Brown from Richmond mate (now retired).

Have a read of this and you will know who he is talking about. You really need to read people's statements before going off on a tangent. It's a very very relevant statement. Nathan Brown never really recovered from the same type of broken leg Barlow suffered.

TheMailman

My fault, I legitimately thought it was the Pies one seeing as he'd been unlucky with recent injuries.

That retracted, my point still stands with the whole Barlow only being 24 and averaging 86 odd.

Interesting enough it also included 100s against Hawthorn and Carlton with a 98 against WC and a 89 against Collingwood

If he can get over the soreness then he'll definetly be a contender.

Previous tangent taken back

None of those broken legs  you mentioned were of the same severity as Barlows and Nathon Brown from Richmond.
A break like that doesn't just snap bones it tears muscles. You will see he will struggle to play alot of games.

i broke my ankle similar to what barlow did 4 years ago but obviously lower in the leg.i can't play anymore to this day. it even throbs after a day at work. barlows career could be on the downfall.

that must have hurt mate. makes me sick seeing that stuff

one thing maybe in barlows favour over brown is that i think gerard healy once said barlows was not a spiral fracture wheras browns was(less complicated, more of a clean snap for barlow)

also michael voss had a horrendous broken leg at subi aswell and got back to his best. there is hope barlow will get back to his best.

the decision to select or not select barlow could be one of the DT decisions of the year!

Tex-Factor

sea biscuit broke his leg and came back...

That may be true, but quite obviously he was able to perform to a certain extent towards the end of last season where he was scoring 90+ reguarly

Ziplock

he was completely rushed back last season as well. Another 6 months off, building back muscle..

he slid out of my team though tbh, I just got scared :P

Seabiscuit had ligament damage, not a break (how movies lie...)

Otherwise he would have been shot, just like Nathan Brown's career...
