Im having trouble with getting my bye structure right...im not sure whether i should not worry so much about my bye structure, which is perfect at the moment BUT ive had to compromise my ideal team to do so...e.g i dont want beau wilkes but there isnt any other options with the same bye!

My bye structure at the moment is:
Backs: 2/3/4 or 2/4/3
Mids: 2/3/3
Rucks: 2/1/1
Fwds: 2/3/4 or 2/4/3

Im thinking about just going with my ideal team and worrying about the byes as they come, not sure if that would be too smart tho

NEED HELP :)

P.S my team is:

Backs: goddard shaw birchall adcock grimes clarke bugg <wilkes morris>
Mids: thomas ablett selwood caddy horsley neale<pfieffer brown>
Rucks: mcevoy leuenberger <stepehenson giles>
Fwds: franklin fyfe martin sidebottom brown hampton smedts <weedon couch>

Yeah there is no way of avoiding donuts only if you make trades at the bye periods...

Colliwobblers

just keep in mind a fair amount of your rooks will be gone by bye time, and every point you lose on the way to the byes by not having the best team may cost more than the donut you avoid.

this might help a little?

i can totally see where your coming from...getting the best cash cows.regardless of byes then upgrading/downgrading to fit structures...but what if you have good cash.cow, but there are no downgrade options with say a rnd13 bye????

Exactly Jayman.  I'm allowing for this in my plan.  If there is no one around, most teams will break in the byes.  FYI:  How many good rookies were around last year in that period?  Mzungu, Smith? Not much eh?

Not sure whether I formally posted this is in your other thread but in case I did not:

At the moment my initial team structure is 2/2/5 - 5/1/2 - 2/1/1 - 3/4/2 = 12/8/10 (in the format of R11/R12/R13

I will be looking at a trading strategy for byes at about round 5 seeing which prems have fallen and which rooks have risen in price.  Trading will be to reach my ideal finals team and also to achieve a structure for byes of:
2/3/4; 2/3/3; 2/1/1; 2/4/3 = 8/11/11 for Round 11. With a few effective trades can achieve this but there is absolutely no way of avoiding a minimum of 2 donuts.

I will go back and rate your team later but on first read reasonably sound.

If Grimes, Brown and Sidehole fire, you've got 15 keepers which is as good as any team going around.

Rookies will make the difference again with regards cash and upgrading ability.
