Well the madness of the weird half-matches is over! And next week we can finally get some decent results. In the mean time, we can continue to speculate with the data we have :)

Entire Round 1 (both weeks) results:

2012-dt-nab-cup-and-challenge-statistics1-1

Carlton, Adelaide and Port Adelaide finished the week off, and the best performers were.....

Best Cheapie (< $140k)

There really wasn't much shown in this price bracket, I'll be keeping a watch on Paul Bower (44 from 2) who could be just too cheap to ignore. Tim McIntyre (31 points from 1) could be a great forward/midfield rookie though.

Best player $140k - $280k

Is Brock McLean (49 from 1) a viable option? The Blues have a very strong midfield, and maybe hard to break into it, perhaps youngster Kane Lucas (75 from 2) is the better bet. And how about Chad Wingard (46 from 1) living up to his pre-draft hype.

Best Player $280k - $420k

The lively Jeff Garlett (67 from 2) and tall Jay Schulz (46 from 1) would be unique forward options, but would need strong remaining NAB cup scores to convince me. Would think that Kane Cornes (47 from 1) has past his prime.

Best Premium (above $420k)

Andrew Carrazzo (72 from 2) is often overlooked as an option, will this be the year for you? Not many strong performances from the premiums, unless you want to take a gamble on Rory Sloane (51 from 1).

pavs nose

good job mate. the cheapies most interesting for me. hadnt really considered those 2.

CrowsFan

A gamble on Rory Sloane? Picking Sloane is more like seeing who has more teeth between you and a Collingwood supporter... You know you can't lose :P

Anyway great work ossie ;)

Sorry CF! Not convinced yet, happy to be proven wrong!

CrowsFan

Haha. I actually doubt he will crack the 100 avg in DT, will probably average high 90's, but in SC I reckon he will average 100+ :)

Still not picking him though since I am avoiding those tricky mid priced players...

Stay away from any Port Adelaide player who isn't a rookie :)

Apologies, but none of Port Adelaide's players get near Ablett.

The best Suns averages:

Gary Ablett: 112.2
Michael Rischitelli: 95.7
Jared Brennan: 84.4

The best Port Adelaide averages:

Dom Cassisi: 88.8
Hamish Hartlett: 88.1
Robbie Gray: 81.1

They were the ONLY players to average over 80.

And, besides Ablett and rookies, not really recommending any Suns either sorry thatguy. The Suns will make the finals and win a flag before Port.

Port Adelaide are in a shambles. And every (non-rookie) player is blacklisted until they prove otherwise. Hopefully for them that is this year.
