Jimmy Bartel. We've all had him in our teams at some stage over the last 5 years but i havn't seen him in anyone's team this year which is a bit harsh for a DT champ like him.Sure, last year he averaged 97.5 BUT that takes into account that 2 he had against the saints and if you exclude that he averaged 102.25 making him quite underpriced. He had a pretty ordinary start to 2011 but in his last 8 games he averaged 108.9 which is pretty darn good. Is anyone considering him this year or are his best days behind him?

Football Factory

Not sure what kind of role he will play for the cats, he got moved around a fair bit last season which affected his scoring.

I have Selwood. So that will do.
Exactly this. Bartel good, selwood better.

Windigo

Bartel was a DT legend back in the day. Selwood is the best player at Geelong in the midfield, DT wise anyway.

lol my point exact.
I agree that selwood is a better DTer than Bartel, only an idiot would argue otherwise. But assuming you don't have another player with a round 12 bye Bartel would make a good choice for your 4th mid and eventually your 6th mid. I'm tipping an average of 105 (only 2.75 more than last season if you take out the 2) which i don't think is at all unrealistic.

Swan, Pendles and Selwood would be considered well before Bartel, but yeah maybe if he gets really cheap last I might consider him.

Sorry old Jimmy doesnt even rate a mention as one of my upgrade targets. With guys like Selwood, Enright, Chapman, Stephenson and Johnson already in my team or on the list of players i want by year end, Bartel adds too much risk by having so many from 1 team.
