The Gold Coast Suns, Melbourne Demons and Brisbane Lions shared the points last night, with a few players standing out.

Best Cheapie (< $140k)

Quite a few rookies stood out last night, particularly Elliot Yeo (47 from 1), along with James Magner (70 from 2), Aaron Hall (74 from 2), Bradley Harvey (32 from 1) and Thomas Couch (53 from 2). My only question will any of them be named round 1?

Best player $140k - $280k

A lot of players in this price range played last night. For the Lions, Ryan Harwood (55 from 1), James Hawksley (56 from 1) and Matt Maguire (66 from 2) stood out. For the Suns, Liam Patrick (32 from 1) and Charlie Dixon (53 from 2), while for the Demons it was Matthew Bate (74 from 2) that starred.

Best Player $280k - $420k

Ashley McGrath (90 from 2) scored a massive 71 in the first match, but not a fan of much else in this price range. Jack Grimes (23 from 1) will likely be popular this year.

Best Premium (above $420k)

Simon Black (44 from 1) will play forever, and Matthew Leuenberger (38 from 1) is a very viable pick.

Aaron Hall was really good to see in a forward line that sometimes struggled to kick goals. Seemed to have good hands and awareness.
Love seeing the Tassie boys get to the big league and perform well!

I really liked the look of Hall, had great hands in the wet. If the suns are smart he will get a gig come round 1 .. plus i need a decent forward rook for my team  ;)

Magner looked good also, mature aged should slot into that midfield of the Dees ... Dees supporters thoughts ?

Hall, Magner and Couch are all in my team. Is there room for both Couch and Magner to be elevated? I think there should be?

I think they've had a couple of long term injuries, so yeah... Hmm

And Jake Spencer. So there's room for these two AND Nicholson.

Yeah I saw he was named in the best... but I only watched GC vs Melbourne and he didn't play so...

Greta evidence shown here that DT point's don't me squat in deciding who is BOG.

Presti might get only 20 points in a grand final, but shuts down Franklin for no goals and little impact. *Hypothetical*
