Paul stewart has put on a lot of muscle this pre season

nah lol jkes just trolling

This is paul stewart in the NAB cup 2011 and since then he has added 5kg of muscle to his frame

Paul Stewart (def)

2012 Price: 296, 800

2008 average 45
2009 average 46.8
2010 average 62.1
2011 average 66.6

Now i know these stats are shower but any good dt knows to look under the stats and do some research. He only managed 6 matched before he shoulder gave way resulting in surgery. He has now had a huge preseason fully fit (shoulder ecovered by start of pre season) and has put on excess of 4kg and atm is close to 5kg. The main point is that he is now a full time midfielder while in dt he is listed as a defender. Stewart has spent all preseason training with Tyson Edwards (ports midfield coach) working on speed, reading the play and tactics. ATM it seems he will be a kick behind the ball midfielder rather than your run all day mid mainly due to his size. At 190cm and with experience in defence he has good contested possesion work, upper body strength and can read the play very well. Looking at his 6 games last year he had 74, 81, 79, 41, 73, 52. These scores were all in defence and he actually injured his shoulder in round 4 (41 pts) where he missed the next week and came back for two more weeks with pain then went under the knife. Those scores are decent and remember that they were in  a struggling defence. Stewart is garunteed games in a young midfield which boasts boak, brad ebert, ben jacobs, Gray and oldies cassisi and cornes. He  looks like taking a role on the wing or off half back playing up the field. No matter what his role is if he is pushing into the midfield he should be improving his average and at 296k if he averages 80 you would be laughing. He is a steal for the potential he has and it will be interesting to monitor where he is lining up in the next few nab cup matche and how he handles his new role.

Going 7 mid-priced defenders is looking more and more tempting every day. ;D

A go downgrade target for any under performing premos before rnd three, if he scores well.

Doesn't fit my current structure. No thanks but a good write-up.

Probably not. He was injured most of last year, that may be why. ;)

I had heard of one of the Stewarts. Never seen either of them play though. I'd rather watch paint dry than sit through a Port game at AAMI hahah.
