Realistically he is now a third year player (just a single game in 2009) and going into 2012 with an 86.2 average and a new leadership role under his belt. Sloane is the guts of the crows midfield and will work in tandem with Scott Thompson and Nathan Van Berlo to deliver the ball to the young guns in Walker and Tippett.

If we look at his last 4 games of the 2011 he had a 137 against Geelong, 94 v GC, and 2 x 88s against the eagles and tigers. This shows that he can not only score against the crap team but also the good. Sometimes he plays a tagger role (not that it reduces his points as it is a run with) where he follows the oppositions best possesion getter racking up cheap possies and other times he plays the gun mid collecting all the hard contested ball. He also has a decent tackle count so can rack up points there. Add to that that crows have all bulked up during pre season this will help his tackling and contested possesion ball work which he is already a freak at. TBH atm if you are looking for a mid priced jet midfielder to follow the likes of redden and shiel you cant go past rory sloane. He is garunteed every game this year and is the future of the club let alone the AFL. He wears his heart on his sleeve and that shows in terms of his improvement in the last 18 months.

Favourable draw this year too, there will be a fair few who jump on imo.

Great write-up. I keep shuffling Sloane in and out of my side, but If I were to get him I would expect at least a 100 average. A 95 average wouldnt make him become a keeper for me. looks like I will have to find the cash to upgrade him to Boyd/Rockliff.

I think you're spot on with your prediction for Sloane this season. The early season draw will possibly sway a few ppl. I'm not sure if I can fit him in my side though.

Haha anyone who follows Adelaide at all would know that this kid will be a jet. Just my personal opinion but I think he is more suited to the SC side of things since he gets the hardballs and clearances etc. I think in that he will avg over 100, but can't fit him in even though he is my second fav player :(

I managed to fit him in. Sounds good, and is proving why he should be picked atm.
