All this and the above is true. However, to me, his performances demonstrate a new Bate.

Bate was unloved by Dean Bailey, didnt get many games and didnt play a very valuable role.

I believe Neeld targetted Bate to keep playing with the Dees, and he has been training with the midfield group. It looks to me Bate is in a new position and is playing like a new player. This could be valuable.

I'll wait for more games - but its something to keep an eye on.

I will watch the Melb vs Coll match to see how he goes. He's always played half forward before, right? It's obvious from looking at previous averages that he represents decent value and will most likely make you 50-100k; even if he doesn't turn out to be a keeper, you should be able to easily upgrade him to one.

Played mids last weekend. Also played that position in the VFL last season and smashed it.

No, but he played 14 games, kicked 29 goals, was 5th for disposals, and also top 5 for marks and contested possessions.
