At least it would be a unique pick  :P

Seriously though, Higgins has teased with his ability to pump out decent scores during the season only to succumb to an injury. He has had a history of soft tissue injuries in his AFL career. For me I want durable high scoring players in my team only and it's a pass on Higgins for me.

This thread is convincing me to go Higgins.

It's a risk v.s. reward thing...

Biggest risk you can probably take in this game and also probably the biggest reward. Prior to injury last year he averaged 100.

Imagine if you had a forward who averages 100 that only 2 other DT coaches have in all of the world... Man I'd have one hand on the car if Higgins could put together a solid 22. (no pun intended, geddit? "solid" there's nothing solid about the softy)

But in all seriousness if he plays 1-2 games in the NAB as I type this I'm about 80% on putting him in. He has burnt me twice before, third time lucky? Why take the turns and not give yourself the rewards? How would you feel putting a player in your squad 2 years running to get burnt only the year you don't put him in he's a top 10 forward?

There's a risk in recruiting him, but I might be risking more not taking him in. I've done a lot less work on my squad this season compared to previous seasons. But this season I'm thinking greater risks to take the car home. Could Higgins be the correct risk? Quite possibly. Will I end up with egg on my face? Most likely. However the car is not won by playing it safe, so play it safe I will not.

Other than Higgins I'm planning on: 2 rookie ruck, J. Brown in the forwards, Waters and Grimes in the backs. I might run out of trades by rd12 w/ my risks, but at least I can say I have given the car my 100% best effort rather than finish top 1,000 and only be able to say yeah, I played it safe, got a good ranking, but maybe if I took another risk I could have won the car.

tl;dr - think I might go the Higgins route.

He will more than likely score well when he plays, but i dont know if you would be happy with a guy that averages 100 and plays 12-13 games for the year

I've done the most work this year and my team is really risky.
