Obviously the rookies are wide open to change at this point - it's all going to come down to NAB Cup form and who is named in Round 1.

I think I may have gone a little heavy in defence at the expense of another genuine premium in the mid or forward line.

Happy enough to take a risk on both Lake and J Brown, given their prices and potential to perform.

You have a nice team there.

BACKS: I wouldn't change anything here unless Lake doesn't look up to it during NAB.

MIDS: Ablett, Swan and Mitchell are all great picks and if you think that Shuey can average at least 110 then he is a good unique too.

RUCKS: 2 prems from the same bye round plus Giles is going to run you into a lot of trouble come round 11. I would swap Leuey for McEvoy who is at almost the same price.

FWDS: All good selections and obviously hoping that Brown can get back to his best.

I hadn't given any consideration to the byes, but that's definitely food for thought. I'll need to have a proper look into who's going to miss when, and the rucks will obviously be an issue.

McEvoy is definitely an option. At the moment I can also afford Mummy, so he could be go.

Obviously I hadn't given adequate consideration to the byes, so I've made a few changes. Ins are in bold

Bringing in Shaw covers Birchall as the third out from defence in Rd 13, and Kreuzer means that I will be able to field two rucks in Rd 11 (assuming Stephensen is (a) playing and (b) still in my team). Downgrading Leuenberger to Kreuzer also freed up sufficient cash for Selwood, with a fair bit left over to play around with.

On the downside, it means that I'm potentially giving up on set and forget for the rucks, which I had wanted. Also, the Leuenberger --> Kreuzer swap obviously weakens the ruck somewhat.

Thoughts - better, worse, indifferent?

Personally I would prefer a strong Ruck and Mid then let the rest fall where they fit
