G'day Windigo,

This is pretty awesome for someone like myself who knows f**k all about AFL and to get someone like yourself, who obviously knows a fair bit about it to give some advice to a novice. I've been invited to my work mates DT competition and don't want to end up at the bottom of the ladder comes years end.
This is the team I've come up with:

Def: Goddard, Adcock, Scotland,Hargraves, Clarke, Ellis, Bugg (Darley, Wilkes)

Mid: Pendles,Boyd,Ablett, Murphy, Sloane, McDonald ( Neale, Magner)

Ruck: Cox, Giles (Redden,Stephensen)

Fwd: Chapman, Franklin, Fyfe,Martin, Sidebottom, Hall, Weedon (Kennedy, Kerridge)

Any advice is greatly appreciated.

thanks mate, I've been doing a bit of reading up on this forum in regards to players/teams,etc. I normally follow the round ball game but I like all sports. Although AFL is more difficult for me especially with your draft system/rookies.

Bloody strong defense! Attacking from the back going with 4 premiums.  8) Rookies all good. Just maybe watch Smedts, hasn't exactly fired as of yet.

MIDS:

I was expecting to see 3 premiums. But no 4. Good work, another strong line. Bit of a different flavor with Boyd & Murphy.  ;)

RUCKS:

Ah, the combo of old. This is the years gone by combo. I think there is more value in the rucks this year.

FORWARDS:

Good top 4. Not keen on Porplyzia at all. Watch him, but I still wouldn't go near him even if his smashing down good scores.  :P

OVERALL:

Very solid team mate. I'd downgrade Cox>Jacob/Berger etc. OR Get McEvoy & Jacobs. Both number one rucks and on the improve. That's if you want to save some cash.  ;)

Another alternative is Cox-Mac. Upgrade Porpoise.

Thanks mate, if i were to downgrade cox for Rowe and have giles as my second ruck to sandy that leaves me enough money to basically get any forward. Any ideas on a good replacement for porps? It will leave me $585k

Solid Team, Smith in the back is different, but if you feel he presents better value than hargrave or howard, go with your gut.

Not a fan of Lewis in the mids, you have 25k left over, surely pav/robinson will present better value there?
