At 331 you think you couldn't go wrong. But it's in that area you can go terribly wrong, last year I had Kermit the frog Liam Anthony, that's why I'm skeptical of the brown dog because he could be past his quality footy and on the way down, thoughts?

Watch how many teams he's in if he comes out and rips it up in the nab cup......and yep he's in my team (for now anyway)

Major difference here is that Brown Dog is a proven performer over many seasons where as Anthony has yet to prove anything hence he proved a risk.

I dont have JB as yet but seriously considering him

At that ages, I wonder if he can pull out good scores.

At 331k to god to pass up, full pre season to date,  can't wait to watch him lead up the ground on the lead and pluck those glorious +6 10 times a game ;)

or a massive leap blindly into a pack and not getting up after being clobbered again.

The fact is, he has a round 11 bye and is probably the only round 11 bye player that you would start with now that LeCras is out, making him even more valueable.

thats what i also think!!!
i'm not even contemplating this one he is locked. only thing that can unlock that lock is if he ges injured b4 season starts. if not, he's locked!!

Nroo is the one that gets me, won't go there!! i think this'll be the 1st time in a long time i'm not keen to start Pav either. prob as i'd rather the young CHF's in cloke and buddy in my team with brown, then midfield type of forwards after them.

underdog11

but also is he a potenial keeper, that also puts him in awqward postion

The other option I've been considering for the same postition is Dangerfield, who also has a round 11 bye.

He's beefed up and is apparently going to play more midfield this year, but the question is how will he compare to Brown scoring wise?

mezzoculo

Surely Brown can't be considered a keeper? The influx of DPP eligible players who are predominantly midfielders means that he is a very small chance of being a top 10 forward, IMO.

Brown is therefore a high priced placeholder who should (fingers crossed) earn coaches between $100k and $150k before being traded out. His Round 11 bye is awkward, too. Do you bench him or trade him?

So, love the guy and the way he plays, but there's too many variables around Brown for me.

+1, very good way of looking at it :)

l dont really think brown dog will end up being a keeper, but am sure he'll be a stepping stone to a premo fwd
