As we know there are a lot of good value premium forwards this year and i'm considering starting with 6 premium forwards (buddy, goodes, fyfe, pav, robinson and martin), 3 premium backs (plus grimes), 4 premium mids and 1 premium ruck. Is it stupid to start with 6 premium fwds or a good idea considering that they are great value compared to defender premiums?

the fwd premiums you have mentioned ae all dearer than the defensive premiums or similar pricing.

its not crazy tho the only way it really differs from most teams is you take a premium from the ruck and put him in the fwd line.

could work well for you

PowerBug

I started with 6 premium forwards last year. Worked well, too bad i had the wrong ones ;D

Yeah i know they are more expensive than most back premiums but they are more solid and better value i feel. Yeah it's not that crazy although i havn't seen anyone else doing it though.

the guys going with (and there are a lot) 1 premium ruck with a starting rook (giles) will have a stacked fwd line or a 5th elite midfielder.

since mid rooks are GOLD i would have the extra premium in the fwd line rather than the mids , BUT the same can be said for defence since the fwd rooks are better than the def rooks....

Yeah that's a good point and i've considered it but i believe that the value in the fwd premiums compared to the defender outweighs the value of forwards rookies comapred to defender rookies (i hope i've worded that correctly).

well im starting with Buddy, Goodes, Robinson, Sidbebottom, N.Riewoldt + Brown as a mid-pricer, so very similar to you just a couple different premo fwds + Brown so I like it  :D

Yeah i suppose it comes down to what you classify a premium as but robo averaged 95 last year if you take out his sub affected 39 against the cats so arguably he is a premo.

If that is seriously your structure, then go for it! Although isn't it tempting to drop a fwd and get another shiny mid elite???  ;)
