last year the only  top 8 team they played twice from the year before was the bulldogs..and we all know how their season went.

eagirls will be lucky to get 7th.  then again the afl does love them.  lead with your elbows get suspended.  but if your lynch you get your sentence DOWNGRADED.

the year they got the wooden spoon (WCE) they were riddled with injuries and didnt have the midfield they put together last season. Nic Nat I feel is over rated also, but truth is the stats don't lie so he must be good :)

I reckon they will comfortable make the 8 probably drop below Carlton adn maybe Sydney if they improve a little but no way they will not make the 8 the press tehy have which is the "new winning formula for now" is too good for most teams outside the top 4 to handle. And thats vecause thier midfield is too good (at full strength) for most of the teams outside the top 8.

Just saying if your a freo man it is your right and your duty to HATE on WCE and i say you go for it, but i reckon the eagles will go ok again this season :)

And I hope you're joking Jukes. First you say Pendles is over-rated and no where near the player Swan is. Then you say Eagles for not top 6? Sure we had a good draw but that's cos we finished LAST FOR flowerS SAKE!!! Our young players are a year more mature our older players have another pre-seaon under their belts. Watch us. Top 4. The way essendon played last night I really wouldn't be throwing any stones at teams to be honest. I have Freo, Sydney, Us, Carlton, Pies, Geelong, Hawks, Saints, Roos above the Bombers. No finals for the Dons this year mate. Without Watson they are zilch. Competing with Richmond/Roos and Melbourne for 8th, 9th and 10th.

To your first comment. Woewodin is better than Gary Ablett Snr? I doubt it.
Pendles just turned 24 in January, Swan is 28 in 5 days. If Pendles stays at the Pies then he will win one in the next 4 years.
To your second comment. Even with Watson you are far from better than the Eagles or Sydney. I agree that you could be challenging the other teams mentioned but Sydney/Freo/Eagles are a cut above Essendon. One player doesn't make a team. Let's just wait for the season to acually begin and you will see what I mean.

Swan is an inside midfielder Pendles is an outside midfielder, swan gets in and under down and dirty pendles gets it off him and does classy flasht stuff you really cant compare them at all they have totally different roles to be totally football precise, compare pendles to daisy and compare swan to ball.

And as for the bombers , top 8 also, but unlike WCE they need things to click, it already has clicked for WCE, but don't get me wrong the bombers have all the right people to make it happen.

He averaged just under 30 disposals per outing (sixth in the AFL), and led Collingwood for contested possessions (45 per cent of his touches were contested) while disposing of the ball at 78 per cent efficiency. He was also second at Collingwood for tackles (150) and clearances (130), and booted 24 goals...... Think that shows he is an inside midfielder and wins his own ball....
