Backs: scotland, goddard, enright, Birchall, davis, docherty, bugg, b. ellis, b. wilkes.

Mids: boyd, ablett, hayes, Pendles, zorko, sheil, l. brown, t. mitchell.

Ruck: cox, jacobs, giles, stephensen.

Forwards: christo, franklin, martin, (need another good choice for rookie), pavlich, adams, treloar, saad, kerridge.

This is nearly my complete team, I am watching the nab cup closely to see how the young guns go.
Double thinking coniglio, just doesnt look like he is ready for it yet. but will be a star of the future.

Dont be kind, just honest.

comments:

i've said this before but i'm not hot on Scotland due to his 'top-dollar' price and age - but you can't say that he's not consistent - i just think there is better value out there.

i'm monitoring Docherty too, but if he doesn't play any NAB Cup won't make my team ... similar with Zorko ...

i thought i read somewhere that Tom Mitchell had some knee clean up surgery and probably won't be available til later in the season??

the price premium on Coniglio really makes it tough to select him when there are so many 'bargain' basement options available (esp mids)

i like Adams as a relative unique.

Johnson at top dollar worries me like Scotland
Goodes is looking good but think the historical evidence points to him as a later season pick-up ... (i did start with him last year however - ignoring my own advice - but not this year!)

good luck!

DEF: can't fault it good picks loved davis in the nab. watch docherty injury return.
MID: bit shallow would like to see a 3rd premium + hayes or barlow or gaff type mid prices (examples) coniglio not worth that much extra money, clifton or even mcdonald could be better and cheaper by a lot. watch zorko injury too.
RUCK: cox jacobs and giles all share the round 11 bye. might have to change one of the premiums. and get stephensen in for gorringe.
FWD: very deep i would lose martin for another elite or close to elite midfielder but that is just my personal opinion. martin has a horrer hard draw first half of the season.

good strong team overall well done.

You're very light on for premos in the midfield, you might find you're playin catch up from the get go. I don't like Gorringe as your 4th ruck, there's much better options there. Stevie J in a bit of a a unique due to his massive pricetag , I'd wait n pick him up later. You're very stong in the forwards and not much room for upgrades, I'd say go Stevie J for a rook n bump up your mids with Swan or Pendels for sure. Coniglio, Docherty, Saad, hmm better and cheaper options available I think.

sam1991

I guess the reason I decided to bite the bullett and go for Scotland is because he is a 90+ dpp.
And what are the rookies that are on your radar?

yorgis

your defense is good altho i prefer birch over sucks

love your rucks same as mine

mids need 1 more gun

forwards a bit top heavy

i know it sounds weird but i would get rid of stevie for say, christo, and upgrade coniglio for swan, jelwood , etc

and pick up stevie when he drops in price

sam1991

I have updated my team in the first post. Let me know what you think now.

LazyHazy

Solid team but just lacking fire power in the midfield!

Zombie2.5

nice, good improvement from first team
i woulda liked too see adams still in your team though
and just a note but it would make it easier to put your  bench in (brackets)

Grannyboy

That's a decent starting midfield I must say, a big improvement on the first team.

I have changed Zorko for Clifton, and I missed a forward in the last post. Have added Adams again and updated it. I think I am getting close to my final team. But I guess we will see how it all goes in the nab cup.

And by all reports so far, Lenny Hayes has had equal to his best pre season and killed it in the intra club trail match. I reckon he is a bargain if he gets back to his old self.

sam1991

New and most likely final team.
