im sick of people saying brogan will take his spot. Brogan is well past it hahaha. Look at zac smith last year, very skinny, very inexperienced but he took no.1 role ahead of josh fraser and gorringe

Giles is mature age, mature bodied, has experience at afl level and only really has brogan to compete with. Brogan took over 5 weeks just to get up to play his farewell game last year the old fella wont last all year. GWS recruiting him, macdonald, power and cornes have locked in quality back, mid, fwd and ruck coach for the future

Justin Bieber

Brogan will probably only play half the season so yeah Giles will be right.

Brogan is there to play. There is no way Giles can get through a season by himself against the elite ruckman.
Zac Smith I beleive was an exception.. and just because one team with a new ruckman like gold coast worked with Smith doesn't mean it will happen at GWS. (if i worded that right.)
And comparing Brogan to Fraser is a bit rich.
Fraser doesn't have a competitive streak anywhere in his body. Brogan on the other hand..

Yes but Fraser could jump yet Brogan could barely walk at the end of last season.

excuse me......seriously you are a joke. Have you even seen giles. He is mature bodies he is built like a flowering afl ruckman. Smith was a skinny flower who had good athleticism. Giles is more of your traditional ruckman i.e jacobs. Brogan was recruited at a onfield leader and a coach for next year. Brogan will fire GWS up wether he is playing ruck, fwd or bench but he wont be playing every match or every minute. Giles is garunteed every single game and he is their no.1 ruck. Even if brogan was fit i reckon Giles is the better ruck so stop maiking up your own opinions coz i can garuntee you have no idea who jon giles bloody is. Go google search him now and get your flowering facts right

I have to agree with FARK, even though i don't agree with how you say things sometimes buddy, lol.

picker_man

yep the fark has this one
he will play more games then nearly everyother gws rookie, he's fighting against one other guy every other positions has many to contend with

Giles is guaranteed nothing. No one is.

Clearly your going with Giles starting on the field F.A.R.K otherwise you wouldn't be so protective. He hasn't played an AFL game in his career. NAB cup means nothing, its for teams to try structures and new positions. The intensity is well below a normal season game. Before you overrate him.. oh wait to late. Lets look at the rucks he played against on Saturday Night:

Jonathan Ceglar - Rookie, looked promising but won't be playing yet.
Jarrod Witts - Looks a good prospect but still raw.
Ayce Cordy - Another good prospect and should develop more this year.

And to ask me to stop 'making up' my own opinions which is the most contradictory sentence ive ever seen, makes your post have absolutely no credability. I will be going Giles 3rd ruck though :)

Is Brogan, Giles "Bogey Man."

Couldn't get a game at Port because he couldn't put on muscle or something like that......

So he 'tried to get de-listed' to get away from Broges to get a game.....And now Brogan is back.  :P

ScoreGasm

Yep starting with Giles as my number 2. The money I have saved has been well spent elsewhere ;)

Just Clancy

I voted "no" but have since chosen to start him on field.  :D

for me it all depends on how Barlow is travelling.  I can go Mummy and a Mid rookie or Barlow and Giles if barlow is up and running at this stage im probably happier with giles on my field than a mid rookie.

i see his average being significantly higher then say a fwd rookie like cameron who i had on the field, so i downgraded mcevoy to a rookie put giles on the field and upgraded cameron to robinson........ magnifercent work hahaha!

That is good shower right there - exactly what I'm doing. The rookie-priced rucks are more likely to play games and score well than the rookie forwards this year. Go where the value lies.

spudsarmy

taking the chance on giles - gots to have the balls to make the tough choices to many nuff nuff teams here
