cant seem to split them..
had heppell for most of preseason but love the way hawks set up and moved up to suckling
let me know who you choose and why

MC

Depends on your team structure - you don't want 3 prems out from the same line during byes.. EG: If you have Shaw and Enright/Broughton -- Then don't get Heppell...

If you have Scotland and Goddard -- then don't get Suckling!

I went for Broughton out of those options - seems more likely to get 100s.

felsty

surprised by the popularity of heppell!
why are people choosing him?? i need answers lol

Suckling is the go to man in the hawks backline.. Will rarely have a shutdown role and gets plenty of sideways kicks and marks.
Oh and plus he plays on in the kick ins.

Noz

Heppell won't be as conistant this year as the last.
Broughtan will be the most inconsitant player in the comp maybe tieing with Duffield.
Suckling seems to be the best pick out of that bunch, Fork out a bit more cash and secure Birchall.

Mozza3

I think Suckling will get more attention from taggers this year ala Hurn, Heppell could lift his average but its a big if and I think Broughton has got the runs on the board over the last 3 years but you'd most probably have to put up with his yo-yo scores, which all comes down to the role he'll play.

Footyrulz

broughton is the only one that has proved he can average over 100.

Ziplock

heppells role is far more certain than broughtons however :P

Torress

its alot of money for a bloke in his 2nd year. if he does a good job this year heppel is probably a very good chance as a starter next year. i'm not sure if they'll tag him just yet, but who knows.

i too would go for birchal over suckling. but thats only due to i'd rather a consistent pick over one with the bigger ceiling.

i voted broughts mate. end of the day, defenders are inconsistent by nature. (with a few exceptions like GOD and lids due to more time on the ball. and hodge and gibbs of old when they had dpp. )
we've seen how big broughts can score when released, he'll have bad games but so will enright, the hawkas premos, ect. as games against different oppositions will affect defenders scores. if freo don't have as many injuries, broughts should be released more imo.

Think yarran is a great buy. Top 10 draft pick, averaged 80 in first year down back (subbed twice and rd 1 stinker). I'd expect him to be in most teams by seasons end.

Did I mention his  efficiency? One of the best kicks in town

Like the look of yarran.

From the others I would have Broughton, and the other one who looked impressive in the NAB cup game, and has reportedly had a good preseason is Hurn.

Disco

I'd go Suckling.  Broughtons average went up last year as he had to play midfield due to injuries at Freo. At the start of the year he was terrible as ahe was playing a more defensive role.  Heppel is second year player and probably won't have it is easy this year. Hawks game plan looks like pushing the Hawks backline average up this year.

auscoyote

Go Heppel, he is another Hird in the making. 2nd year wont faze him and will be released in the mids.Question will be if he can deal with a tag as no doubt he will be getting one by seasons end. Cant go wrong with suckling either. Still worried with what lyon has install for broughton.

newfreofan

Suckling didn't look fit at all in the NAB cup to be honest, did great for me last year doubt I'll go near him this year.
