Weebon was good. Wasnt even on the radar. With no Frenchmen im thinking excellent cash cow.

Yeah l agree Weedon was really impressive, the only thing that concerns me with him is West Coast's history with the green vest for its young up and coming players

Hes been around the team for a while now (rd 2 pick in the 09 draft) so hopefully that will help him stay away from the vest, hams looked good and hill will be given a shot so JS is tight

Yeah I just got back from those eagles/bombers/dockers games. Weedon was a bit of a surprise packet for, didnt know too much about him before and he looked potent in the forward line. Not too sure on his JS though. Shuey, Cox and Hurn were gunning it. Im a bit iffy on sandilands now though, think I might be leaning towards either Leuenberger or Cox. In other games I've been liking the looks of H-Mac and Giles.

elephants

Lewis Stevenson, Gerrick Weedon and Blayne Wilson. Such nice depth we have ;D

watching all the games again, and i cringe when i say it but patty ryder looked good. call me Dr DT but he did

l love Paddy, but as an Essendon supporter l'm a bit biased

......l just hope he starts this season like he played in the 2nd half of last season

I'm a massive bomber fan too, and in the past i have stuck by ryder. I wasnt impressed with his performance as i expect more from him. He found the footy but turned it over too many times for my liking. Jetta played a nice role accross half back. All in all my mob was very ordinary and i was very dissappointed.

Colliwobblers

yeah keep in ming who was missing tho, you cant rate the bomnbers off that side, same as the pies, no watson, stanton, heppell, bellboy, zaka played 5 mins?, too many otehrs to list missing? but mainly no midfield stars ?

Ive had Weedon on my watchlist for months now, along with about 10 others like him. Its definately worth doing the research to look for players like Savage was last year...have spent 2 - 3 years on a list and are on the cusp of regular AFL appearances.

I dont know anything about his pre season but Im curious to see how Jed Lamb will go this weekend.

Everyone thats going on about some stars not going so well (Swan etc) must be mindful of what Paul Roos was caught saying to a player about to run onto the field for a NAB game a few years ago
A lot of coaches would be taking this approach with their stars.

My surprise packet has been Sam Gibson...wasnt on my radar at all.

Another one that came out of nowhere for me was Cooyou, l though his skills were sublime .....looked like one of those kids that grow up living and breathing footy
Sublime skills!?
He got a bit of the pill, did some dancing, but his kicking was pretty ordinary! Kicked it out of bound on 1 set shot, and kicked to a team mate when he should have goaled!
Certainly someone to watch, but I think you're overstating his ability!

l think Gibson will be a ripper too, and the bonus with him is that being mature age that he is more likely to step str8 into the side if he keeps up his good form.......he's been a beauty in the VFL

The only one out of the 4 that is a concern is Duffman, l thought he might have been a good prospect this season (he burnt me last year)....but his form was all over the place, so l'm really unsure now. Will be keeping a close eye on him in his upcoming matches, as l still think he could be really good value.

As for the other 3, they're all safe picks for the year IMO, and will all do well

Agree about Koby has a bit of Luke Shuey about him.....the green vest worries me though
