Whats the best midfield structure?

3 premiums, 1 mid pricer, 2 rookies (eg. Ablett swan selwood hayes shiel horsley)
3 premiums, 3 rookies (eg. ablett swan selwood coniglio shiel horsley)
4 premiums, 2 rookies (eg. Ablett swan pendles selwood shiel horsley)
2 premiums, 4 rookies (eg. Pendles ablett coniglio tyson shiel horsley

I am going 3,1 2 but see quite a few teams are 3,3/

i'm going with 4-4 - and i think 4 prems is the best structure to start with
but for some stupid reason i'm considering a 5-3
5-3 has come into consideration as i've played with my forwards and backs for bye setup. colliwobblers has a nice idea with loading up one extra bye prem in a line for 2 of the byes. sorta self determining when you have your byes (fingers crossed every other bloke plays)

i like the idea of accepting a mid bye in round 12 as there are many premos in teams who share this bye.
i've got a strong feeling i'm going to start jobe this year (gotta have a bomber!!) but that means no pendles or swan (jelwood locked)  :o

I am going 3,1 2
may i see what it looks like?
At the Moment Ablett Andrew Swallow and Selwood - Barlow is the mid price but if he does not come up looking at other options Sloan, Hayes or Gaff. Clifton and Shiell buts subject to change.  Hve enough to go either Caddy or Stevens if NAB form is outstanding.

Sabretooth Tigers

At this time 3/1/2
Ablett, Swan, Rockliffe with Barlow as the mid. If Barlow doesn't fire up, and I really think he will, then I may go for Sidebottom. Cheers.

jabroni

gone for 3-1-2 as well

pendles, ablett, selwood and hayes

Jay

Ok so it looks like 3-1-2 is the most popular, im not a fan myself!

Mine atm is: ablett priddis selwood caddy horsley shiel with treloar and brown on the bench

Anyone like it?

Ringo

Caddy is $218k - Obviously has talent and may be gold for you.  Will his JS be OK at Suns.  Watch NAB cup to see how being used. (Actually hoping to get to Metricon myself Saturday Night).  Basically decision is is he worth the extra 50 to 100k than a rookie who may score similar?

I've got 4-2 at the moment with Ablett, Swan, Swallow and Selwood. If Barlow or Hayes look good though then i'll jump on one of them.

I think you need to look at who you want by seasons end and trades.

You don't want a caddy at 218 unless you want to keep him. Too many first years that are cheaper and will score the same.

Last season I took swan, murph, pendles, cotch however always thought itch was upgrade.

This year I'm taking pendles, ablett, selwood, shuey as I think I will have them all by seasons end. Leaves me swan and Murphy to bring in saving a trade

yorgis

4-4, get max points for the  4 every week and make the most cash out of the other 4. no mid pricers for me [9x out of

10 they are not keepers and every week you' ll be taring your hair out wondering how they are going to go. could even

end up losing money on them

4INAROW

3-3 for me

swan, gaj, selwood, shiel, horsely-if promoted, clifton. neale and gibson on bench.

gave me room for 4 premos down back plus clarke.

and 4 premos down forward plus n.roo

and gone with cox, mumford.

if you choose the right mid rookies, it can pay out quiet nicely imo

JamSainter

I am going with a 3/3 structure.
But to do this you must have top of the range premiums and rookies.
My starting 6 mids are Ablett, Swan, Boyd, Tyson, Wingard and McDonald
