Now that’s more like it! Much more high scores than the Friday night games, and a lot more hope for the coming season

Best Cheapie (< $140k)

Jonathan Giles (89 from 2 matches) is the must-have player. Seriously, the only question is to whether to start him or not. Speaking of must-haves James McDonald (38 from 1) also impressed, while Thomas Bugg (36 from 1) and Sam Darley (36 from 1) could be great defensive roookies.

Musn’t have? Israel Folau (-3 from 2) had a shocker. No indication he will perform better than Karmichael Hunt last year.

For the Bulldogs, Zephaniah Skinner (53 points in game 1) impressed against the Giants, but not enough to convince me yet, especially given his opposition. Peter Yagmoor (61 from 2), but unlikely to be a starter at the pies.

Best player $140k â€" $280k

Anyone considering Ryan Hargrave (94 points from 2)? Cheap, and could be unique! Braver person than me though. Number 2 draft pick Stephen Coniglio (45 from 2) hasn’t done enough yet to justify his high price.

Best Player $280k â€" $420k

I don’t think the scores from Jordan Roughead (52 from 1) and Bob Murphy (46 from 1) justify their price. Who knows, Tom Liberatore (83 from 2) could be a unique. Will Simon Buckley (60 from 2) slip into Leon Davis’ spot? Not sure. And can Rhys Palmer (48 from 1) return to form?

Best Premium (above $420k)

Matthew Boyd‘s 55 and 93 was extremely impressive, and although Boyd is without a doubt a premium, I doubt many will choose him. He keeps it up though, could well slip in. Daniel Giansiracusa (98 from 2) in the past has been an inconsistent forward option.

Dale Thomas (113 from 2) starred for the pies, and Heath Shaw (86 from 2) and Steele Sidebottom (82 from 2) are very tempting, while stand-in Captain Luke Ball (82 from 2) was also consistent.

An SC version will be up when I find the stats….

Thanks for that - I do like the looks of Bugg, Darley and Giles. Sidey, Shaw and Roughead looked great too.

If Giles isn't careful, I may have to start him.... risky

Its out of Hargrave and a fremantle player for me. Dont think Lake is solid enough. Great work oss!

I wouldn't start with him. But even at 3rd ruck, he will still make money and you'll be able to downgrade him sooner than people who have him at ruck #2 because if you have 2 prem rucks + Giles, and you downgrade Giles, you will still have your 2 prems + the Big O (i assume) and heaps of money that Giles made.
... hope that made sense  :P

One guy that disappointed me was Clifton, expected more from him. But l'll have a look at the replays later and be monitoring his future games......am sure he'll improve

Yay it returns!! Thanks Ossie!!

Darley and Bugg have jumped onto my notes page. Need plenty of backmen rookies with my unique little strategy I have ;)

Have always been looking at Darley, love me the Tasmanians

Yep, thoughts on how Lake's return will influence Hargrave? Better or worse?

Windigo

If Steele continues to play midfield he will be more of a lock.

He should, considering all he injuries at the Pies.  :)

Depends if Lake returns I guess! But if he does, and is fit, I'd choose Lake

Ziplock

harsh on folau. It wasn't a good dt game for him, but he played pretty solidly, put some good hits on, a couple of spoils that lead to a team advantage, as well as putting decent pressure on witts when pinch hitting in the ruck. I though he did well, just didn't translate into fantasy.
