Yeah well if we look at the very top teams...

Geelong - Selwood, Bartel, Chapman

Collingwood - Swan, Pendles, Daisy, Ball

Hawthorn - Mitchell, Hodge, Shiels

Carlton - Judd, Murphy, Simpson, Gibbs

All of these teams have A-Grade midfielders.I am not sure our midfield is there YET but in 3 years it will = FORCE TO BE RECKONED WITH. I think it used to lack
What grade is above "A"?? Coz that is Priddis.

+1 like all interstate players especially in the west he is in the "ignore grade". I rate him in the highest category, I like to like my team as well as have a good one, and Priddis has DEMANDED a spot in my team this season, SC side it is :)

The F.A.R.K.

ele i think you forgot port

Hartlett, Jacobs, Boak, Brad Ebert, Cassisi, Gray

or crows

Thompson, Vince, Sloane, Mackay Petrenko, Dangerfield

TheMailman

Ele hardly forgot Port

Hartlett, Boak, Cassisi, Gray, Vince, Pentrenko and Dangerfield all look or were promising players but really they aren't up to the other A grade hardworking midfielders such as Kennedy (swans), Boyd, Mitchell etc.

Thompson is really the only workhorse there and he gets little to no support.

Also most Brownlow winners are well into their late 20's. Just thought I'd point out that Shuey has a long long way to go.

BAHAHA. I was listing the top teams...

MM, Kennedy isn't in the bracket of Mitchell or Boyd. Nice try. ;) I agree that Thommo runs the Crows midfield and that Shuey has heaps of development still to go!!

TheMailman

:P Yeah I guess Kennedy isn't as consistant as Boyd or Mitchell.

The point is though is that all the top teams have workaholic inside midfielders to give the ball to the flashy outside midfielders. They may never win Brownlows, but a team can't win a premiership without them.

Just look at the top 8

Collingwood - Ball, Swan to pass the ball to Thomas Didak co.

Geelong- Corey, Kelly, Selwood to pass the ball to Chapman, Varcoe, Bartel etc.

Hawks - Sewell, Mitchell, Shields to pass the ball to Rioli, Savage etc.

WC - Shuey, Kerr, Priddis to pass to the ball to NicNat, Embley etc.

Carlton - Judd, Robinson, Curnow to pass it to Murphy, Gibbs, Simpson

Sydney - Bolton, Kennedy, Jack to pass it to O'Keefe, Goodes etc.

St.Kilda and WB have good ones as well

I can't really say about most of the other teams seeing as I never get to watch them in Sydney.

PowerBug

For West Coast Mails it's simply:

Cox/Nic Nat
to
Priddis/Kerr
to
Lynch/Kennedy GOAL!!

And dont let Masten touch the ball :P

Cruiseon

And as good as Priddis is, we all know 8 times our of 10 he will handball.

TheMailman

Yeah Priddis has a tendency to butcher one or two games a season but otherwise he's good

The F.A.R.K.

so pretty much for port its is

Gray with the kickout to boak, boak to gray, back to boak, back to gray, back to boak, handball over the top of pearce, feed rodan the candy, back to gray, body charge schulz, back to boak, back to gray, handpass to westhoff, he kicks a point from 5 metres out

that is how every port play goes

Last year it was Brogan and (Insert Ruckman Here) go up for the center bounce. (Insert Same Ruckman) wins the tap and (Opposition Team) run away with the ball. :P

IMO the best clearance mids for the Eagles are Priddis, Shuey, Kerr, Scooter, in that order, Scooter's clearances are pretty underated.. he's not as classy as Shuey or Kerr but when he's on he's as damaging as Priddis, then you get the outside mids of Embley, Gaff, & Masten, who could both turn into A-Graders.. then with the combo of NicNat~Shuey which will be as effective as the old Gardiner~Cousins combo in the early 2000's, looks darn good 8)
