TOO MANY FREAKIN MIDFIELDERS !!!

Ok so whats going on weagles? your one eyed recruiters can't recruit anyone otehr than a midfielder, ever since Judd left and cousinns was sacked and the WCE midfield was no more, you have snatched midfielder after midfielder after midfielder until you have one of the deepest midfields in the comp, not only in current potential but in depth of age and longevity.

So for a non eagles fan and a fantasy footballer, would you care to shed some light on who's going to what and explain how I fit the 7 WCE midfielders into my team?

1. Priddis - superstar - locked in my SC team - how is he going to go in 2012
2. Embley - oldie but a goldie - just got better last year like harvey at NM just gets better with age - more of the same in 2012?
3. Shuey - LOve this guy - going to get better?
4. Kerr - horrible run of injury but he is also a gun - fit this year back to his best?
5. Rosa - yep no one notices this guy but NEVER averaged under 20 disposals in a year of footy what about him this year?
6. S Selwood - ok so not really DT/SC relevant but has to be mentioned being the best pressure player in the afl and only 21
7. Gaff - this is one i want to lock in but is he past the vest, full games in 2012 all season? superstar in the making
8. Masten - breakout season here we come - where does this guy fit in? another star
9. swift - oh oh another breakout candidate? any chance he gets a run this year ?
10. Stevens - just like Shuey you say? where does it end, lock this rookie mid in too ?


ok well there is 10 quality midfielders and a number of them would make solid premium, breakout, or rookie type picks.

Any insider tips who's your favourites,

If looking hard at Priddis/Shuey/Gaff/Stevens , but i'm not a west coast man so what do I know, except all these blokes around cox and nicnat looks like another good year ahead..

Priddis will be top 5 this year. Both competitions.

I think our backline is young and developing (with the exception of Glass) so recruitment is not needed there.

Our ruck department? Well it is the best in the game. Cox and Nic Nat run Subiaco Oval, let's be honest. Also add to the mix South Australian Scott Lycett who we stole at pick 36 in 2010. Was backed in for a top 15 pick but was thought to take too long to develop so he slipped to us.

Forward line is great. Lecca :'(, J. Kennedy, Darling, Nic Nat/Cox, Nicoski and the Q-stick with Shuey on a flank.

If anything I think we are missing one or maybe two really elite midfielder. If Shuey can stay injury free and Gaffy stops being homesick I think we can have those elite midfielders in the next 5 years.

That is why there has been a strong push for midfield recruitment.

i thinkk your underestimating the midfield you already have, i think it is easily a top 5 midfield. good recruiting anyway lots of high draft picks

Yeah well if we look at the very top teams...

Geelong - Selwood, Bartel, Chapman

Collingwood - Swan, Pendles, Daisy, Ball

Hawthorn - Mitchell, Hodge, Shiels

Carlton - Judd, Murphy, Simpson, Gibbs

All of these teams have A-Grade midfielders. I am not sure our midfield is there YET but in 3 years it will = FORCE TO BE RECKONED WITH. I think it used to lack after the loss of Cousins and Judd to trades and Braun and Fletcher to retirement...
Yeah I agree with you though it could be a top 5 midfield. Good depth!

+1 they are a grades but apart from the pies they are all really old too.... and as for the pies well we are trainng sidebottom because pendles wont be there next year :( just ask Zip

Our best/most promising 3 mids I would say are Priddis (26), Shuey (21), Gaff (19) so age is not our problem. Rosa, Selwood's and Kerr were unlucky to miss out.

+1 mate , you can't guarantee any of Gaff, Masten, Swift, Stevens will get regular games and ALL of them could/would WILL be gun midfielders, would be locks in many opposition midfields not just port...

What grade is above "A"?? Coz that is Priddis.
