Kicked off with Didak and Johnson, then Krak has some serious issues followed by Harry O'Brien, Marty Clarke a few niggles  and Ben Reid and Nathan Brown are not right. Now Mcaffer suffers what is looking like a potentially serious knee injury.

With the exception of Reid most of these are not key players but do we think this is getting serious for the Pies?

Quite clearly. You nearly lost to GWS.

Buckley and his staff can't pull it together before the beginning of round 1 it won't look fantastic for Collingwood with Essendon, Carlton and Hawthorn in the first 5 rounds. The Tigers might even cause them some headaches (lol not Port)

The only team that Port will be challenging is University.

Seriously looked like O'Brien did his ACL, at best tore his meniscus.

Hey, that was an insane game, and the giants played amazingly, considering the only player with AFL experience in that side was Davis, with 18 games.

And I'm positive one of the pies last goals was touched.

LOL ZIP one of the goals were touched..... I loved the way GWS played and not being a supporter it is going to be great like it was with the suns to see them compete get better and WIN, but not against us  :)

Seriously the players out for the pies in that game (which GWS did do well in)

1.pendles
2.maxwell
3.obrien
4.cloak
5.beams
6.blair
7.didak
8.N brown
9.clark
10.johnson
11.jolly
12.krakuer
13.reid
14.tarrant
15.wellingham

paints a picture of the team we fielded tonight, and also of how much the injuries arent an issue. Also tonights game paints a picture of a young side against a young side, and just HOW GOOD the young players in the GWS side are (no senior players really in thier side v the pies)

yeah sorry, no idea where O'brien came from. Freakin' irish names?

to be fair colli, krakouer is on indefinite leave for personal reasons :P

but yeah, they played really well, I loved it despite the loss. Half time when we were up, one of my mates jumps up and goes to this pies guy next to us

'YEAH MATE HOW DO YOU LIKE THEM APPLES?!?!!'

the dude was like- ... wtf...

on a side note, izzy folaus average of -1.5 ppg doesn't, I feel, really reflect the way he played. He put quite a few solid hits on people.

freakin' mohr lost us the game vs the dogs lol. Punches the ball back after it went through goals, gave the dogs another free kick from 30 out lol.

u should have won both games, it's going to be a hard frustrating year but the talent in that team is TOO hard to ignore.

You put the two winning formula's of each game together..

game 1. the senior players they recruited looked great,(obviously stood out from the kids) but they will turn matches and they will rally the troops and the side looked very much more capable against close to a full strength doggies side.

game 2. the high draft picks and the guns played and although some didnt set the world on firs that lot believed in thier abilities took the game on and backed themselves. And the high draft picks showed flashed here and there of brilliance and why they will be the future stars of the afl.

So you put the cream of the 2nd team of high draft picks and young guns with the senior players from the first team and your going to do alright.

As for the pies well i know a lot were missing but i was hoping this season to see a more tough intense hard at the ball and man side, but i saw none of that and if it is the same as last season with no added aggression or toughness well there will be no flag this year either, pies need to harded up simple as that.

Should have gone to west coast and trained with priddis and s selwood instead of going to arizone might have learnt something about hard at it.

and on a side note what the hell happened to all balls bulk ? and why ?
