Mitch Morton? Really? At his best he averaged 82. Can't see the ceiling being much higher, even at his new club. Morton to a rookie fwd gives you 200k or so to upgrade Smith/Hmac to a prem ruck.

Also, BJ in the mids seems like a mistake - although I can see the dpp reasoning behind it, i'd still suggest to make use of rookies for dpp purposes, not premiums.
Swapping BJ with Burgoyne allows you to bring in Barlow for example if you have 30k spare somewhere. (Tyson to Miles/Shiel/Stevens/Clifton would do it)

Decent team, probably a 7/10 so far, with plenty of easy upgrades to be made.

with morton... he was always second to reiwoldt
and now he's at sydney, who need a forward
thought it was a good, unique stab

Too many cheapies for me mate, lots of risks in there.

Don't like Burgoyne and I dont see any upside to Hunt at all. Lake and Grimes both is a bit risky i think.
5 rookies is probably one too many, maybe someone like a Barlow in there instead of one of them.
Z Smith is not a good pick this year, too expensive and will probably take another year or two before he lifts his game to a premium level, H Mac should have a good season.
Forwards i would not have Riewoldt, Morton or Folau just not enough up side on them.
I am interested to know how much cash you have left after this team. A fair amount i would think. Also mate if you get a second would you mind rating my team? http://www.fanfooty.com.au/forum/index.php/topic,48556.0.html

Def: Heavy here consider downgrading lake to another rookie leaving your back structure 4 prem 1 mid and 2 rookies. Do not be swayed too much by the opinions on Hunt - Will be played in the Midfield as has been sated but watch in NAB cup.  Was one of the best performer in Suns Intra club trial today with time in midfield.
Mids: Would probably look at upgrading Shiels to a super prem like Swan or Murphy with cash.
Rucks: If you can afford would like to see a prem ruck there.
Forwards: Sound

With Rookies watch the NAB Cup and select best performed rookies there will probably be cheaper options for you than Coniglio and Tyson (who may not even be named).  Will also give additional cash to assist with upgrades.
7/10 for this team - Good Luck.

i agree with Ringo as usual so I will just reinforce what i think is most important and can help the most, drop coniglio and tyson, they are sure fire guns but may not play every game, may not play early games, may not play regular or full games.

I like shiel, everyone does, and clifton. there is also a chance miles will be a regular and he is cheap and averaged 90+ in dt in neafl last season. The high draft picks are almost guaranteed to be guns, but usually not in the first year and you save a LOT by not having them.

i dont mind the fwds at all.

i don't mind the rucks but i would keep smith and try for a jacobs, mummy, goldi, ect premo to go with him. if not watch nab closely to find the best mid priced ruck, kruezer and west and a couple of others are possible options if HMac doesnt impress, because if the mid priced ruck you pick averages 75 or less, you might as well have giles on the ground and another rookie like rowe on the bench.

the defence is too deep and hurts your ruck and midfield, i would (if you are happy with 3 mid premiums) downgrade grimes or lake to a rook and upgrade shiels to another elite 600k+ mid. anything left over use on upgrading ruck unless you go the 3 rook option, then get a 4th preemium mid :)

oh and GET RID OF HUNT save 100K and a lot of heartache and a trade. ellis or morris from the tigers is who you want back there.

zorko and mitchell both may be injured up until round 1 make sure they are fit and named for round 1, and pfieffer who i love needs to be promoted off the rookie list. he ahould be but make sure...
