In SA it is compulsary to complete a half year research project to pass year 12. You can pick any subject (yes even drugs, sex ect.) but you have to show use of ethics, referencing, ect.

For mine im doing the relationship between fantasy football and AFL. (i.e wether in the future dream team coaches will become assistant coaches or talent scouts ect.) I am yet to form a research topic specifically but hopefully you get the drift. Anyways I'm stuck on who I should see for research as we have to find primary and secondary resources. Im trying to get interviews with crows and port assistamnt coaches/talent scouts but that is hard anyone got any ideas of where i can get info from????

also im thinking if i cant find any sources by friday ill change my topic. anyone got any good topics i could do (if you wanna include funny ones go ahead i wouldnt mind seeing them

eh, I dunno about it fark. You gotta remember that afl fantasy football didnt really mainstream until (relatively) recently, so a lot of current coaches etc. wouldn't have had the opportunity to play it in their youth.

I'm sure you could pick another DT related subject though :P

and only just realised then that was an example :P

ahhh, you could correlate like brownlow votes to DT  points?  (although first hand research could be difficult)
or between the rise of DT and the membership for clubs (would be easier, contact VS and ask if they could give you stats about membership, and contact individual clubs asking for similar stuff), I think this could be really interesting tbh.

Could you just generally do a question on the correlation between fantasy football and afl? And then incorporate several concepts?

sounds interesting anyway, wish we did something like it in NSW :P

How about looking at the impact of fantasy football in general?

Start by doing a random survey of a good different mix of people.

First question: Do you play fantasy football? If so, which one?

Second question: How many AFL games do you go to on average per year?

Third question: Do you have Foxtel? If so, how many games would you watch per week on average?

Fourth Question: Do you participate in football forums? If so, which ones?

etc.

etc,

And look at the difference between those that play fantasy football and those that don't.

Then perhaps continue by asking coaches of local clubs or AFL clubs if you can and ask them how the rise of fantasy football has helped them especially in relation to more detailed statistics...

Could be something there...anyway, good luck!

Good luck with it FARK, i know that when i get to Yr 12 i'll be picking a sports based topic too, probably not AFL though.

From my limited knowledge of NFL i believe that it'll be harder to do their fantasy than ours.

No doubt, but if he's looking for research on how fantasy football impacts people... may already be studies
