Even done keyhole - this would mean 4 - 6 weeks before full contact.

Not quite a LTI - but save those trades when the season proper begins.

Just a friendly suggestion next time mate:

1. Make sure you clarify who you are talking about, in this instance, Dylan Shiel. It can be easy for people to think you might be talking about Liam Shiels.
2. Provide some references to your post to support your findings, otherwise its hard to corroborate your story.

:)

As for the injury itself, IMO, he'll be right for round 1. He had the appendix out last week (link) and if it is a keyhole appendectomy as you say, then he'll be doing light training this week and stepping it up each week. Round 1 is more than 5 weeks away remember, so he'll be fine. Shame we wont be able to see much, if any of him this NAB Cup.  :( Still, he'll be in my SC team for Round 1, even IF he doesn't play Round 1. He's that good.

It's good to see we have Doctors as members on this site, if i need a heart transplant, i know who to contact.

I can provide sound medical advice for all that ask for it, for a price of course.

I do also perform replacement surgeries on the weekend, perhaps you need some gills or new eyes that amplify the spectral range?

;D :P

For the shrewd tacticians out there this could create an opportunity. If he misses round 1, many people won’t select him. He should be ready for round 2 as it will be played 2 weeks later for GWS. This may then result in you having the best rookie out there as a unique in your team.

Some good points c4v3m4n, but just trying to help.

Also, I guess now he won't get appendicitis again so he's safer than a lot of other rookies.

Cheers and by the way - he's back in my team for the 45th time.

I'll take one of each!

No way. If things go the way you said, people will trade him in on round 4.

And those people will waste a trade on a cash cow that hasn't reached it's full potential and will suffer in later rounds because of it.
It's all part of the strategy and conservation of trades.

I agree.

If you rate him and want him then get him.

The appendicectomy just piqued my curiosity!

nope, if he isn't named round one I won't be jumping on. Look at hibberd last year, I had him clogging my bench for weeks.

Yeah, but Hibberd wasn't rated as one of the best rookies to jump on. Shiel is definitely one. He wont clog your bench at all, plus I thought being a GWS supporter you'd be all over this youngster?

Ziplock

the hibberd thing pissed me off (and he was rated as one of the better dters, and did end up delivering). Mostly cause I cracked it, traded him for curnow when he was on the bubble, then traded back to hibs after curnows injury. Made me feel so stupid :P

I am keen on Shiel, and honestly I think he'll be named round one regardless. If he's not, I'll give sheeds a call and ask him what's up :P

meow meow

Not going to mention anything about Treloar's leg injury? Or Jeremy Cameron's broken jaw?

... This is Shiel remember :P
And I'm not trading in any rookies pre round 3. Waste of trades.
